Astrolabe

Leo's hand frantically moved across the paper. Algorithms cluttered the sheet. Now, Leo usually wasn't an algorithm-y person, but this may be the most important thing he has done in his life. Or at least in this year. The mess hall table was covered in papers, blueprints, and random pieces of metal. Moonlight reflected off of a not so random piece of metal right next to Leo. It was the astrolabe. Leo picked it up and turned it over, searching for anyway the crystal, which was in his tool belt, could fit into it. He reached for his pencil again just as a loud crash echoed from the hallway. Leo turned around in his chair, and looked straight into the kaleidoscope eyes of Piper.

"Hey Pipes what's up. Also why are you up at 2 in the morning?" He inquired.

"I could ask you the same thing Repair Boy." She replied. She moved over to sit down next to him. "Leo what is this?"

"It's nothing Beauty Queen." Leo replied hastily. He went back to writing down notes. Piper inspected him closely, and noticed how tired he looked.

"Leo how long have you been up?" She questioned. Leo checked his watch jokingly.

"About 4 days Piper. Why?" He replied. Piper shook her head.

"Look Repair Boy I know you have this thing for insomnia, but you seriously have to stop."
"Thank you for your concern Beauty Queen I will be sure to look into it." He went back to his writing.

"Hey Leo," She said after some time. "Do you remember the time you passed out in the middle of history class at the Wilderness School because you stayed up for 12 days?"

"Why yes I do Pipes. That teacher nearly had a panic attack!"

"Yeah, well I'm not letting that happen again." She stated, and she quickly grabbed Leo's arm, and pulled him out of his chair.

"But Piperrrrrr" Leo whined. No luck. Piper swiftly pulled him out of the room, leaving the table covered in paper, blueprints, metal, and one shining astrolabe.
