Percy's always running around. He never takes even a second to look at me. I never really understood him. Until now.

January 1, 2014

I walked up behind Percy, who was talking to his 'friend' Annabeth.

"Hey, Perce, what's going on?" I asked.

Percy refused to look at me. Maybe he was mad about that time when I pushed him over the deck into the water. Of course, the impact couldn't have been too bad, because he was son of Poseidon. He flailed around, splashing into the water with a crash that would have killed him if he wasn't special. And now I stand behind him, waiting for him to notice me even the smallest bit. Of course, I blended into the shadows easily. I have dark brown hair, warm brown eyes, and I always wear dark purple clothes. I very rarely wear bright ones.

Percy finally turned around and said, "Oh, hi, Cassandra."

"Who's this?" asked Annabeth.

"I'm-" I started.

Percy cut me off. "This is my little sis Cassandra. She lives in the Hecate cabin."

I know you might find that a little bit weird. I always thought I was born a daughter of Poseidon until I was claimed, and Hecate picked me up. I called my mom and she said,

"I better not tell you why; you're not old enough to understand."

Don't you hate when parents say that? We're not little babies! Percy always treated me like I was 10 years old, but yesterday I turned 15, and now Percy is treating me like I'm his age no, thank goodness.

Annabeth burst out laughing. "Girl, you better get better clothes. You look like you belong at a funeral!"

At that remark, tears started to well up in my eyes. Percy started laughing along with her, and I fled.

When I got to my cabin, I flung myself on my bed.

"Cass, what's up?" I heard the voice of my best friend Victoria.

"I think," I sobbed, "Percy hates me!"

Victoria hugged me and stepped out into the cold air. I heard the door close, but I didn't see her go because my face was buried into the blanket.

What seemed like an hour later, she returned with a steaming mug of hot chocolate. A small smile appeared on my face.

"You sure know what I like, don't you?" I asked. Victoria nodded her head. I didn't know she was hiding a major secret; one that could change my life forever.
