Déjà Vu

Percy Jackson's Point of View

The piercing shriek of the Minotaur in the distance alerted me to the fact that tonight was not going to be an easy night on cross-over duty. As I started running to the area where I heard the noise, I heard a scream that I knew all too well...it was Annabeth! The thought of her being in trouble made me run even faster. I could see the beast in the distance due to its massive size. I saw a woman and what appeared to be her son running towards half-blood hill, with a satyr right behind them. A ways behind them I saw Annabeth taking on the gigantic beast with just her knife.

Seconds later Annabeth was knocked hundreds feet in the air, and started to hurtle downward.

"Annabeth!" I yell as I catch her before she could become a human pancake.

"You always seem to show up right when I need you, now don't you seaweed brain?" Annabeth said breathing heavily.

"That's what I'm here for, Wise girl." I said with a grin as she got to her feet.

Just then the Minotaur grabbed the woman and was just about ready to send her to Hades, just like what it did to my Mom years ago. I wasn't going to let that happen.

"Here's my cue!" I said as I uncapped Riptide and sprang into action. "Minotaur, Buddy! Long time, no see…"

The Minotaur turned around and looked at me, and then became enraged. It put down the woman and she went running toward her son who was still running to the top of the hill.

"What's it been? 2, maybe 3 weeks since I've killed…I mean seen… you last. You have to come by more often. I enjoy slashing, soaking, and stabbing you." I said in a condescending tone.

The Minotaur seemed to get angrier and angrier after every word that I said, but it didn't move. The Minotaur just stood there, starring at me with its red eyes.

"Well anyway, It's getting late so let's just get this over with, shall we?" I said with a big smile on my face.

The Minotaur charged at me and, after a few quick swipes with Riptide, the beast was gone.
