Within a Broken Mirror
Author's Note: Greetings to everyone reading this! ^ ^ It has been a very long time since I've actually (seriously) worked on a fanfiction so please bear with me on this.
Anyway to anyone who may have (by some slim chance) read The Lone Wolf by Royal Devil and/or A Love of Heaven and Makai by VampireAngel1989 (yes, that was me formally, back when I was 15 . . . Good grief how time flies) there are several characters that are familiar from those two stories. Royal Devil was kind enough to give me permission to use a number of his characters, I promise I'm not stealing.
And of course, Ame is back with quite a bit of revision. I currently have an unfinished, unedited picture of her up on my deviantArt account for anyone who wishes to see what she looks like. I hope to soon have the finished product up and will keep you all well informed.
So now without farther ado . . .
Chapter 1: A Call for Help
"She needs you . . . "
A silver mist swirled over the water, hauntingly chilled against bare, pale skin despite the heat rising from the surface of the hot springs. Somewhere in the distance the sounds of a small waterfall could be heard. Gold eyes flickered over the scene, this was not the first time he'd been here, but it was the first time she'd forcefully pulled him here. His eyes flashed as the scene suddenly lost all sound and a drop of water echoed out sending ripples across the surface to him.
"What is this about?" he asked, his voice echoing in the silence.
Across from him, silver eyes appeared in the mist.
"You feel it too . . ." a gentle voice rang, dancing all around him.
"Feel what exactly?"
The silver eyes regarded him with quiet reverence, knowing full y well that he knew exactly of what she spoke. She could see it in those golden eyes, that had both haunted and captivated many, the cold calculating he was known for. He was already planning, she was just confirming any suspicions he already had.
"There is a great danger coming and she is going to need you. There is too much hanging in the balance. You've felt it in the trees, in the earth just as I've felt it in the rain and the sea."
"When?"
"It has already begun . . ."
There was a loud echo of water splashing and green eyes shot open. Kurama sat up in his bed looking around the dark room before looking at the clock on the nightstand next to the bed. 7:15. He could see through the blinds that the sun had just began rising.
'It has already begun . . .'
The words echoed over and over in his mind. Kurama laid back, closing his eyes. It was true, he had felt the world go off balance and he knew the others had too. How much time did they have? What unnamed foe would they have to face this time? A million questions raced through his mind at blinding speed.
'Hurry . . .'
A/N: I do apologize for this being so short. I promise to try and make the chapters longer in the future. Please review, opinions and suggestions would be greatly appreciated and certainly taken into consideration.
