Tenzin could not look after watching Lin run off Oogie's tail. But from the sudden explosion he knew she had just saved his family. He also knew that the scream in the distance also meant that Lin had been captured. Soon she would be whisked away to Amon. When he heard that scream it struck through him like a bolt of lighting. The pain was so weakening, but this was no time to shed a tear.

Pema yelled "the air ships, they're gone." Tenzin pulled on the reins so Oogie swerved to the right. He tried not to look at the fires spreading like a wave over the city. The broken buildings gave the city such a ruined and desolate look. He felt like such a coward for leaving, but he needed to keep his family safe. So he pressed on, not saying a word. Jinora looked at her dad with tears in her eyes. He did not meet her gaze but he heard such a sad little voice ask "Can't we help them daddy?" The screaming cries of people was so disheartening he could not answer. Jinora knew she couldn't help them so she took Ikki and meelo in her arms for the slight comfort. Tenzin commanded Oogie to move faster so they could clear the mountain peak.

On reaching the top, the motors of five air ships roared alive. The first wave of cables were easy to deflect. Soon Tenzin could not keep up. Even with Jinora, Ikki, and meelo the equalists proved to be to much. The Airbender family was just holding on when the cable hit Ikki. It wasn't like the other cables they had been deflecting, it had a claw at the tip of it. With a sudden jerk towards the ship, Ikki didn't realize what was happening until she was half way through the air. Tenzin didn't see what had happened until Amon spoke through a loud speaker. " Give up Airbender, I already have one of your precious daughters. I could go for the other. Maybe I'll go for your wife. You could surrender now I promise I wont harm her." Tenzin looked at his family to see the sea of frighted faces. He walked to the saddle to be with his family and put his hands up. A large cable came down, then a platform circled out from the tip. He put on his best smile and said its going to be okay. Jinora stepped up on the platform and turned away from her family. She could only think no, no its not going to be alright.
