Just a short little thing I came up with last night. Jade was uncharacteristically not mean (not outwardly nice, but definitely not mean) to Trina in last night's episode, "Robbie Sells Rex". So this takes place just after Trina's flour bombed, but before they're all sitting in the auditorium after the intro song. If that makes sense. Anyway.
Jade pushed open the door to the girls' bathroom and walked straight up to the mirrored wall, inspecting her hair and her clothes for any flour. Once satisfied that she was completely flour-free, she turned to leave, but stopped short when she heard a whimper from in one of the stalls. She scanned the space under the row of stalls; there was only one that was occupied. Normally she would leave, but she recognized the insanely high-heeled, sparkly shoes under the door.
"Trina?" Jade called, knocking on the door.
Trina sniffed and tried to hide her face as Jade pushed the door open.
"That was humiliating," Trina whispered when she saw the look of sympathy on Jade's face instead of the pleased smirk she had been expecting.
Jade wasn't sure why she felt so bad for Trina. On any other day she'd be laughing at her. But there was something about the way Trina hadn't been able to stand up for herself -mixed with Jade's annoyance at the flour bomber- that made Jade want to help her.
Jade extended her hand, motioning for Trina to get up and follow her.
"I'm getting really sick of that flour bomber," Jade said as she wet a paper towel under the faucet.
"This is the second time he gets me," Trina murmured.
Jade nodded and began dabbing at Trina's face gently with the paper towel, wiping away as much of the flour as she could.
"You should have grabbed him," Jade said as she wiped a spot under Trina's ear.
"I know," Trina sighed. "I was too stunned." She chuckled despite her embarrassment.
Jade finished cleaning Trina's face and crumpled up the paper towel, tossing it into the wastebasket.
"You know this doesn't make us friends, right?" Jade asked, gesturing back and forth between them, and Trina nodded in agreement.
"Thanks, Jade," she said, smiling.
"Yeah yeah," Jade dismissed. She was annoyed to discover that Trina wasn't actually so bad.
Sorry it's so short, but hey. I am working on another Trina/Jade fic, though it's not shippy. I really like when they interact civilly (if there's ever been such a time) and I have this need for them to have some kind of bond.
Anyway.
Thanks for reading!
