All I wanted
was to stand tall
and shine bright
under the Darkness
that promised
to honor only
the most brilliant
of stars
and to eradicate
all those
that clouded
the purity
of our being.
All I wanted
was to unravel
the Riddles
and enigmas
hidden in the dark
to slither in
the corridors
of its very existence
and imbibe
all its thoughts
all its desires
all its secrets
all its being.
All I wanted
was to be
its fateful servant
its perfect warrior
its last, best lieutenant
for I have always embraced
the Blackness around me
and I have always known
that the light of stars
dazzle only in darkness
and that Death shall devour
all those that condemn
the dark and its being.

what no one else
had the right to

yet I cannot fathom why
the Dog strays from me
the Constellations fear me
the Flowers forsake me
and why in the end
I must die
