There are reasons why Sasuke hates Tenten. sasukecentric, gen fic

Sasuke doesn't know when it begins, or how it happens. It is a distant memory now, and all he recalls is waking up one particular morning with homicidal, murderous intentions nagging in the pit of his stomach, and a certain someone etched in the recesses of his mind. A male character going by the last name of a proud Hyuuga, and two kanji characters as his first.

Hyuuga Neji.

And how he finds his fists clenching up as he focuses all his anger on the person. It then puzzles him when he sits up straight in his bed and run a hand through his hair, because he forgets the reason why he feels so intent on killing that particular Byakugan heir, anyway. Sasuke brushes his teeth, looks himself in the mirror, and then remembers.

It hits him just like this. A stereotypical WHAM! BANG! and he stares himself down to the last intricate detail of himself within the dirty, tainted mirror. It is a Saturday morning, when Sasuke learns why he wants to kill Hyuuga Neji badly, and he knows he should stay in control, rein in his impulsive emotions, but his will fails him, and in a matter of nanoseconds, he finds himself trudging out of his house, towards the Hyuuga clan estate.

There, a mansion stands in its wake of glory and grandeur - the very rich epitome of the Hyuuga's pride, a physical manifestation of their political clout and shinobi strength. Sasuke easily avoids the Hyuuga men guarding by the gates, sneaks over the high tall bricked wall, and crosses over silently without making noises on the grass. He catches sight of the young Hanabi sparring with an invisible partner, and he takes careful note not to step on any twigs.

He succeeds, and he finds himself coming face to face with a tall, brown door.

It is Neji's door.

And Sasuke doesn't knock. He's an Uchiha, and he knows well-bred manners when protocol calls for it. But all these moral values and Uchiha mantras are thrown out of the window when Sasuke's fists hangs mid-air, and his Sharingan deactivated eyes come face to face with the Hyuuga branch clan boy.

All rules and manners of greeting one's fellow Konoha comrade cum teammate are forgotten and effortlessly deemed invalid, when Sasuke slams a fist in Neji's face, and activates his Sharingan eyes. He tries hard to control his Chakra like how Kakashi teaches him to, but it's hard when an Uchiha feels anger.

Byakugan activates in response.

"What the hell was that for?" The Hyuuga's tone is steel, and nearing on the intentions of promising violence should the Uchiha fail to come up with a valid answer.

Sasuke doesn't, and he simply death-glares his Uchiha trademark look, and replies with a low, "For being a dimwit, or an idiot. No, forget that. You're both."

He ignores Neji's utterly confused and angry look, and storms away from the place.

As Sasuke lands swiftly on the other side of the Hyuuga estate, he looks up, and holds back a sigh. He stands up, dusts the dirt off from himself, and makes his way towards the nearest ramen bar to fill his stomach a little and prepares himself to proceed with his usual uneventful daily activities, just the way he likes it.

Still, Uchiha Sasuke cannot help but feel hatred again. This time, hatred towards a certain kunoichi.

And this is becoming one of the reasons why he hates Tenten, because sometimes, standing up for and protecting her from the man she loves yet ironically the one who ends up hurting her, inevitably and undeniably makes him feel like a little brother all over again.
