Divergent Trilogy – FanFiction
Destiny's Desired Fate
"Sometimes I wonder…" Tris muttered under her breath. "Do you ever think that we were supposed to meet?" Her probing eyes found Tobias's in the dim morning light of his room. The initiation celebrations were over now and soon Tris was to pick her career among the Dauntless faction. Tris watched Tobias's long lashes flutter when he blinked – momentarily forgetting her question. Tobias's handsome face still stole her concentration. Sometimes she feared what her life in Dauntless would have been like without his support. Tobias was her strength; he got her through the three parts of Dauntless initiation. In some ways, she owed him her life. Tris reached her hand out and tentatively stroked his chiselled jawline. It was slightly rough under her soft fingertips – he didn't shave this morning. Tris smiled to herself… that was her fault. Last night she and Tobias spent the night together. They weren't at the fully intimate stage within their relationship yet, but his warm embrace was often what kept her nightmares at bay.
Tris still had nightmares about initiation – which wasn't long ago. Almost every night she would dream about waking up in her fear landscape. Tris would panic as she caught sight of the only person in the room with her. There was only one person who could evoke fear in her now – Peter. Sometimes, he would attack her and hold her down - injecting her with funny serums. It was worse when he would lean in and tell her that he knew her secret. He would call her a Divergent. Last night in her dream, Peter studied her. His eyes were brooding and aggressive as he looked her up and down. He had a butter knife in his hands, twisting it expertly in his fingers - muttering words about Edward.
Tris knew where she was going before she had even pulled off her covers. Tobias's bedroom.
Tobias's tightened his hold around her waist. Tris knew he could sense when her mind was wandering. Four leaned in and placed soft kisses against her neck. He buried his face there momentarily before whispering in her ear.
"If this is fate's work, then I have done something right to deserve you." His hand ran down the back of her arm - trickles of heat burst in her veins from his fiery touch.
"You're wrong." Tris corrected, always trying to be logical. "We both deserve each other." She leaned in and sealed her lips to his. She felt a deep carnal fire ignite deep within her at their contact. Tobia's lips matched hers as they both fought for domination within the kiss. It was usually this way. Tris's passion and Tobias's fiery spirit melted into one as they expressed their deep and still developing love for each other. Sneakily, Tobias used his tongue to lick Tris's top lip. A small giggle escaped her when she felt his lips turn up into a smile. It was in this moment - wrapped up in Tobias's arms, that Tris knew destiny had a desired fate for her. Tris realised that she was more than glad that destiny had decided to send her to Dauntless.
