I don't own the Phantom of the Opera or any of the characters in it. If you have seen this poem on poetry.com, I did not steal it. I am the same author listed there.

When she hadn't seen his face She loved him for his voice She was pure beauty and grace Then came her awful choice

The day when she removed his mask A hideous man of the night And when for her choice did he ask She didn't know what was right

"I loved thee for thy voice," said she "But I cannot love thy face. How can I live if 'twill be just we Alone in this dark place?"

Then she stood silent, tho' song was her art "I'll stay with thee, for I do love thy heart."
