For Emma, Forever Ago
It was the first time she opened that damn card he sent her with the key to the car, she would have denied the key car if it wasn´t so needed. She hated him for all the fake promises he made, for the fake kisses he gave and for the fake love that looked so real, Neil was a lie in her life, for eleven years she kept the card but never opened, it was simple, blank with only "For Emma, Forever Ago" wrote on the back. She hated how that sound like he knew it would be a long time until she opened it, she hated the fact the he knew her entirely while she thought that she knew him, but was disappointed.
She only had opened it because she was a mess, her last months she not only founded her lost son, she discovered that she was from a fairy tale world, a princess in that world, and all that sad and lone life of a adopted kid jumping in the system wasn´t supposed to be that way. She traveled through worlds, fighted, lost loved ones, helped people who seemed lost forever get their redemption and now was back at Storybrooke, trying to rebuild what was left, for many, there was nothing to go back in enchanted forest, so they chose to make the city their official home.
Inside the card, simple words that destroyed her more than any spell that Regina could throw at her: "If you´re reading this, you have faith again… it means you broke the curse, I´m sorry for everything I´ve done, it was supposed to be this way. Please forgive me, from the man who lost his world, Neal Cassidy"
Emma cried herself until she was dry, he knew all that time, he didn´t want to enter in her way from breaking the curse and being a hero, but what it´s a hero if not someone who lost everything? She remembered her life with Neal and how happy they were, it was like it happened in another century… and then she looked at the card in her hands and this realization came to her as she read "For Emma, Forever ago".
