Chapter 1: Blind
It was a dark gloomy day at the hospital, where nearly everything was quiet except for a certain muscular pink-haired girl screaming her lungs out at the nurse who was in charge of taking care of her brother.
"Please ms. Calm down-"
"NO I will NOT CALM DOWN!" Paige screamed. "MY BROTHER WAS IN A CAR CRASH! " Paige yelled, her face practically fuming red.
"I know this is hard to accept-" Again the nurse was interrupted by Paige pouring out her anger as loudly as she could.
" HE'S ONLY TWELVE! I WANT TO SEE HIM" She screamed.
"For pity sak, let her see him before she kills us!" one of the patients yelled desperately. Giving up, the nurse allowed her. She took Paige to a room in the emergency area where she could see her brother freaking out.
"JACK!" She screamed, pushing past the nurse and straight to his hospital bed, kneeling by his side.
"O... Onee-chan?... I'm scared, I can't see anything!" Jack cried. She noticed that his blue eyes were now grey-ish silver.
"What do you mean?" Paige asked.
"I mean.. I can't see you.." Jack said, scared.
Paige's face twisted into a frightening scowl, turning to the nurse. "What happened?!"
"W-Well... The accident caused him to go blind..."
"WHAT?!" Paige screamed, she felt like throwing the nurse through the window.
The nurse was definitely afraid of Paige, Paige's anger was fuming. How could she let this happen to her own dear brother? She mentally punched herself. She had to take care of Jack all my herself now that their asshole of a father left them. Their mother died of an illness when Jack was was still very young, he barely remembered her.
Paige sighed and sat next to the bed.
"Onee-chan...W- What's going to happen now?"
Paige quickly looked and grinned although she knew he couldn't see her. "Hey, don't worry about it! It's gonna be fine!" she assured him.
"Will you stay with me until visiting time is up...?" Jack asked. Paige bit her lip but thankfully Holly came into the room, a worried look on her face. Paige was relieved because she had somewhere to be.
"I can't but Holly will."
"Okay..." Jack said sounding disappointed. He put his arms out to hug her, Paige quickly hugged him then rushed out. Holly sat on the side of Jack's bed.
"Hey.." She said softly. Jack stared blankly at her. (Not that he meant to; he was blind)
"Hi" He replied back.
"How are you?"
"In all honesty; scared for my life. I'm too young to be blind... This will be the death of me one day, I know it." Jack said causing Holly to look at him worried.
"No it won't Jack. I promise, your going to be fine!"
"How do you know?"
Holly gently put her hand on Jack's looking at him.
"Because you have a tough sister who loves you and will do anything to protect you"
Jack slowly nodded. He was convinced, for now.
