ANNIE: MirAndy Style!
A/N: Initially, I created this as a prompt idea on the DWP Facebook group and was asked when I was going to write this. To be honest, I hadn't thought of writing this prompt myself. I felt, and still somewhat feel, that I wouldn't do this piece justice. However, I have taken the plunge and decided to give this MirAndy writing a go. So without further ado, I present my FIRST DWP fanfiction: ANNIE: MirAndy Style!

Prologue
April 2nd 2004 10:53p.m. Brooklyn, New York.
"Are you sure we're doing the right thing Davy?" asked the young woman holding a large laundry basket. Anyone looking closely inside said basket would see two newborns covered in baby clothes, baby blankets, two bottles filled with formula and a note.
The tall, lanky, young man turned to his girlfriend with a wary smile, "Mags, we talked about this babe. We aren't ready to be their parents. This is the safest way possible given our circumstances."
Quietly, Mags spoke, "I get that Davy, but what will they think when their older, and how do we know that they will be adopted right away, let alone stay together?!" At this point the young mother had stopped and placed her heavy load onto the step leading to the Brooklyn Fire Department building. "It just seems cruel that we are doing this, and I…" she sobs, "I don't think that I can go through it."
Looking down at her precious daughters, she smiles as she sees her youngest by 5 minutes, yawn. Gently, she strokes the soft tuff of red hair, and closes her eyes, before looking up at her boyfriend, "I know that we can't keep them David, we have no money, no way to support ourselves, let alone twin infants, and we have no family that will take the four of us in," swallowing the bile that has risen down, "I just didn't think it would be this hard to say goodbye to them…our girls…my babies," inaudibly.
David Bennett took his love into his arms, and placed his forehead on hers. "I know love, but until we can afford to get them back, this is our only option. The Safe Haven Law will help keep us out of Rikers, and I for one don't want our girls to have convicted felon for a Papa. Please Mags?"
Closing her eye's with tears trickling down her cheek, "Promise me David Bennett, that we will get Caroline and Cassidy back one day."
Kissing her forehead one last time and looking down at his daughter's sleeping forms, David looks at his girlfriend and smiles, "Yeah Babe, I promise, I'll live on Hope that we will get them back."
After looking down at their daughter's sleeping peacefully one last time, they rang the bell that changed their lives forever.
