All was quiet on this moonless night. The only lights that could be seen were the countless number of stars in the country sky. On a small hill, a good distance away from the town sat a young girl. Her blond hair only reached her shoulders, but it was enough to hide her puffy blue eyes. Crystal tears ran down her face. The silence was shattered by the girl's whimpering.

"Why? They were doctors, this wasn't supposed to happen… so why?"

And with that wails could be heard as the small body trembled.

"Winry? Are you okay? Granny is worried about you ya know." A childish voice asked, laced with worry. Winry didn't look up from the ground or turn around, instead choosing to keep her silent vigil. The boy behind her sighed.

"She wasn't the only one worried about you. We all are." He paused before continuing with a slight blush on his cheeks, "That includes me."

He walked around so that he was standing in front of her. The boy watched her for a moment before sitting down on the grass with a soft "oof", causing a giggle to escape Winry's lips.

"Thanks Ed." Winry whispered so quietly that Ed had to strain his ears to hear her. Ed smiled softly, leaning his head back and bringing up a finger so it pointed at some stars.

"Look Winry, do you see the new stars?" Ed asked, looking back down at Winry who had lifted her head off her knees. Soft gold met watery blue and for a split second the world seemed to hold its breath as it waited for her answer.

"What?" she asked, searching the sky with her eyes. She looked back at Ed curiously, who just looked back to the sky.

"They're up there now, your parents. They're watching you as stars, side by side. You just have to find them." Ed finished with a small smile.

"But how do I know which one?!" she exclaimed, on the verge of tears again. Ed leaned toward her.

"You'll know right here." He whispered as he tapped where her heart is twice. Winry smiled. Ed stood up and reached down to help Winry up.

"Come on, Granny will go crazy with worry if you don't get back soon." He explained as she got to her feet. She nodded as they made a mad dash to the Rockbell's house.

Thank you Ed. Thank you for everything. Winry thought as she went to bed that night, a small smile on her face.
