Chapter 1 It was a dark and stormy night and I had just set up my tent when the General came over and told me that there was going to be a huge battle and be prepared for anything that may happen. I was a private at the time and I had never been in a war before. I asked how many men we had,"2000" replied the general "and how many men do the confederates have?" I asked "5000 in this battle."replied the General. We were 3000 men short and there was little chance for survival,as you could guess..I was worried. But then we got word that we were getting some supplie wagons with some men in them..hopefully this would gives us an extra 1500 men.
