This is a story based off of my theory of where the gem in the Frobisher Shield came from.

Btw, who saw House of Silence/House of Klaxons? Who cheered at the Peddie kiss and at Joy giving up on Jabian? I know I did!

Robert Frobisher-Smythe felt the exhilaration flow through his veins as he placed the golden Mask on the pedestal. He could hear the House creaking and moaning above him; he hoped that no-one would find his treasure, the greatest treasure of all.

The eyes of the Mask glowed red as Robert's wrinkly hand approached it. Quickly, he plucked the purple gem from the forehead. As the eyes flickered out like candles, a single golden tear fell out of the hollowed eyes. The gem was the key; the key must not be found.

Palming the gem, he hurried back to ground level where his daughter, Sarah greeted him.

"Did you hide it Daddy?" she asked, a soft smile playing on the little girl's face.

"Yes darling. No one will find it now." Robert picked his girl up and spun her around, enjoying her sweet laughter.

He walked slowly up to his study after that and picked up the Frobisher Shield. The perfect hiding spot; it will be disguised as decoration. He tucked the gem into a gap in the center of the shield. Then he held it up proudly as it glinted in the sunlight.

After the school was founded, Sarah proudly placed the shield to hang in the main hall. It would bring the school luck, she thought, Daddy would be proud.

The gem winked at her as if saying goodbye for the last time. She smiled and slowly walked away, never taking her eyes off of the shield until she left the building.

And there it stayed until it was used as a trophy for tournaments. Ping Pong, in fact; it was always Robert's favourite sport. The shield brought the school good luck; the gem always winking at the champions and heroes of the school. Some students claim that the gem winks at the students who will go on to do great things. Maybe that was the magic of it. Then, a mischievous boy by the name of John Clarke stole the gem from its high place in the cabinet.

The rest, as you know, is history. Until, at least, John's son, Jerome finds it….

Did you like it? I know it's short but this was my theory. For those of you who don't get it: I noticed from the promos and episodes that the shield and the mask have the same sized hole (in the center of the shield and in the Mask's forehead) and I thought, since in House of Anubis, everything ties in together, the gem came from the Mask and was the thing that activated it. But Robert Frobisher-Smythe took the gem and disguised it as part of the shield so that, just in case someone found the Mask, they wouldn't be able to activate its true power.
