in which Vegeta manages to catch his opponent off guard,
and pins him to the side of a mountain with ki rings,
Vegeta explains why he hates him so much.

I am the prince of all saiyans!
I was supposed to be the most powerful being in the universe!
Have you any idea of what it feels like to be surpassed by a mere low level soldier?
Oh no, there's no way you can imagine the hate, the fury, the anger I feel toward you.
No matter how hard I try, you are always one step ahead of me.
Not once have I been able to beat you.
A little average powered saiyan baby sent to Earth.
Who could have imagined you turning out this way?
If I had only known, I would have killed you when I had the chance.
We have had many battles, but you always left me alive out of pity.
You are too nice for your own good Kakarotto.
I would have been better off dead.
You have greatly damaged my pride, and for that I will never forgive you.
And what I hate you the most for is beating Frieza.
You have never suffered by being his slave.
You have never experienced being under his command.
The fear, hate, and maddness of it.
And more than that, he has destroyed my planet and whiped out my whole race.
You don't even remember your home planet, and you have never known your people.
You have not spent your whole life training, planning, to get revenge on him, to make him pay for what he did.
It had nothing to do with you.
It was not you by who's hands Frieza should have been defeated.
It was not your battle to fight in the first place.
It should have been me who defeated Frieza, not you!
You have had many chances to kill me, but wasted them all.
Now it's my turn.
You will die thanks to your own stupidity and kindness, Kakarotto.
I will finally get my revenge!

Ofcourse Vegeta does not get the chance to kill Goku as he breaks free,
but that wasn't the point of the story :).
