Cole yawned as he awoke. He squinted his blue orbs at the peeking rays of sun that dared poke through the blinds that afternoon. He stood and glanced at the clock, "Two pm? I'm going to be a fat, lazy guy at the rate I'm going…"
Screw California…
And friends that are never there…
And places that they oughta…
Pretend that they even care…
Unsure as to whether or not she was breaking the law at the speed she was going, Phoebe brushed some of her hair out of her face as she leaned over the steering wheel of Piper's beloved car. After she was sure she ran three red lights in a row, Phoebe slowed down only slightly before reaching over and turning on the radio.
From a false family, she could light you up…
Like a holiday tree in the summer…
Cole cast a quick glance at the picture of himself and Phoebe as he reached into his fridge and pulled out a carton of milk. He sighed and shook his head before chugging straight from the carton itself. Swiping at the little milk that managed to dribble on his stubble chin, Cole twisted and arched his aching back.
So lead us there…
Phoebe, in her haste to get to Cole's penthouse, momentarily forgot where she was and looked out the windshield, her brown eyes squinted against the afternoon sun. She hit the steering wheel once and sighed. She looked up at the roof of the car and muttered "Lead me there," echoing the words of the song currently playing.
So screw California…
And ice that will never melt…
From hearts of the modern…
Children of Cicero…
Cole emerged from the steaming shower, shivering slightly as the cool air from outside the stall hit him. He wrapped a towel around his trim waist after he toweled off, goose bumps evident on his body. He glanced in the mirror and muttered to his exhausted reflection, "Your eyes are as cold looking as your heart feels my friend."
From a false family, she could light you up…
Like a holiday tree in the summer…
By this time, Phoebe had finally made it to the towers where Cole's penthouse was located. She jumped out of the SVU and ran as fast as she could towards the elevator. She fidgeted impatiently as the elevator came down and went up as she got in. She tapped her foot before cursing, "What am I going to say?"
However, it was too late, for when she uttered those words the elevator doors opened and she stepped out into Cole's unclean penthouse. Chinese food cartoons littered any surface available, and bottles of various alcoholic beverages littered the floor. Phoebe stepped forward and held her breath, "Cole?"
"Phoebe? What are you doing here?"
Phoebe whirled around to see Cole clad in black sweatpants only, his strong arms thrust into the sleeves of a gray t-shirt he was attempting to put on. They stared at each other, one as shocked as the other.
"Oh boy…" Phoebe muttered underneath her breath.
So lead us there…
The End.
Please Review.
