Every year around Christmas, we are
all caught up in Christmas cheer. Presents, food, Santa, everything's busy this
time of the year, right? And when you open your gifts Christmas morning, who's
behind it? Santa Claus? WRONG! Santa is merely the delivery boy in this
Chrismas scheme. For centuries, Mr. Claus has gotten all the credit for these
hard working elves.
Take Elvand, for instance, with
extra pointy ears, and he made toys that practically shined. He toils all year
round, making gifts for children of the world. And when he can't make them, he
goes on the internet to Amazon.com and buys them. Yes, some days, he goes home
with his fingers numb and sore from putting together a new train set or doll,
his eyes tired from a bright monitor in a dark room. But he enjoys his work, he
loves the sparkle it puts into kid's eyes. On the week before Christmas, he
goes and helps to load up Santa's sleigh, for Santa is to fat to do it himself.
Then he helps Mrs. Claus bake cookies and get Santa ready. After Santa is gone,
he likes to play Poker with the other elves, the left behind reindeer, and Mrs.
Claus. But that is the ONE day of the year he gets a break. The next morning,
he gets up, and starts on next years toys.
So on Christmas Eve, Santa rides around in his sleigh, delivering toys and goodies, and returns home to sleep in and get fatter for the rest of the year. And everyone thanks him! Oh Santa, thank you for these great toys. BAH! Can't you see something's wrong here? Santa taking all the credit for the elves hard work. Santa may do some work, but he's certainly not ALL that's behind your Christmas gifts. This Holiday season, leave out some extra gifts for your local elves. Yes, they do accept checks.
