"Speedy, if you make one more suggestive comment to me, about me, or even in front of me, you will discover a new meaning for the words cruel and unusual torture," Raven threatened. Her response was a cocky grin. And he apparently had no idea when to stop since he added, "Well, it might be a little easier for me to refrain from making such comments if I knew you didn't like them." Raven barely stopped herself gritting her teeth out of sheer annoyance. "I don't like them and you will find out shortly just how much if you don't watch it."
That being said, Raven phased through the floor, teleporting into her room. Upon arrival, a sigh escaped as she realized that she was in need of meditation after spending the morning in Speedy's company "That boy sure knows how to try my patience," she thought, "and oh will he pay for it later. She was finally able to concentrate on her meditation and was doing a good job of it, until she was jerked out of her thoughts by an insistent knocking on her door.
Raven cracked the door open, peeked out, saw it was Speedy, and closed it, or at least tried to. And would have, if not for the fact that he had somehow managed to worm his foot into her room. "Look," he said, "I just wanted to apologize for earlier. I mean, I know I was out of line." Studying Speedy, Raven decided that he looked sincere, which gave her reason enough to doubt him. Keeping her voice cold and steady, she replied,"And you interrupted my meditation for this?"
Almost immediately, Speedy regained his arrogant composure and shouted triumphantly, "Hah! I knew I sent your emotions out of control. You felt something didn't you?" Raven angrily snapped, "The only thing I feel for you is annoya-" but she was cut off by Speedy momentarily pressing his lips to hers. "What is your problem?" Raven spat. Speedy just laughed accusingly, "You liked it! I knew you felt something." Very coolly, Raven replied, "I do not feel. I told you that already. I have complete control of my emotions."
"Oh, really? Funny," he said, staring at something behind her, "the state of your room says otherwise." Her eyes wide, she spun around to find...absolutely nothing amiss in her room. "Speedy," Raven enunciated in a voice calm enough that even Beast Boy would realize the danger in that tone.
But Speedy was Speedy and Beast Boy was Beast Boy, and so Speedy, completely oblivious to the imminent danger he now faced, said "Well, I guess you don't have as much confidence in your emotion control as you let on." He smirked, adding, "I knew you felt something." And when Raven turned around a moment later, she was surprised to find that he was gone. "Well," she thought, "this will just make my revenge all the more enjoyable."
And enjoy her revenge she did. As for Speedy, well, lets just say...he learned his lesson.
