These memories

Of wrongs I've done—

Don't leave me—

But don't see me fall—

Don't see me cry out—

For if I know you have

I will do it all over again—

I cannot know that you have seen this side of me—

I cannot know that you have seen my weakness—

For if I have I would not be able to go on—

No, not with you—

I'd have to find someone else—

Someone else to catch me and look away—

Someone else to not understand—

But understand enough to not take one look at my face when I am like this—

No—not when I am like this—

Because then I will feel that I have tainted this untouched beauty that is you—

No—You do not deserve that—You who are oh, so innocent do not deserve to see the tainted things in life—
