Chapter 1: Ordinary Girl

I was in a living nightmare. If you were to ask me how I had gotten to this situation, I would not be able to tell you. Each intake of breath was like breathing in fire while people were stabbing me. It was dark, and the pit I had fallen into was like a holding cell made of earth and stone. I had been foolish to go alone without telling anybody where I was going. I guess it all started when my parents died. Before then, I had lived in L.A, the city of entertainment. I had gone to a normal school, and led a normal life. One night my parents didn't come home. The next morning a phone call told me all I needed to know: my parents were dead and I was being shipped to England where my uncle lived. I didn't even know him, or what he looked like. When I arrived at my new home, I was greeted by the most ungrateful and most hateful person. He invited me in with a scowl and told me shortly to leave him alone and that I was to remain in the house or around the outside where I could still see the house. The house itself was very dark and cold, and it was unwelcoming. One night, I had had enough of my "new home" and decided to take a walk into the woods that were a few miles away. When I reached its edge, I sat on a rock to rest. What happened then I didn't know. I woke up a few hours later in the pit. My only hope was to wait for my only living relation to find me. When he says not to go anywhere, I will listen next time. If there even will be a next time.

Severus Snape was a little grouchy. The girl, Jamelia, was a bother to him because he had been alone for so long. He hadn't even known he had a niece. He decided to check up on her. When he had searched the house and still had not found her, he became a little bit concerned. He waited until the sun came up, but there was no sign of her. He was becoming agitated. She was my responsibility he kept on thinking. He pulled out his wand, his mind decided. With a nifty spell, he transported himself directly to her. What he saw made his stomach lurch. Oh my god, what had he done? He quickly brought her back to his house and scuttled around getting various potions. When he was done, all he could do was to watch and wait.
