A/N: This is Neville Longbottom when he performs his first bit of magic

Bouncing Neville

"Noooo!" Neville was hanging out of the window, arms flailing as he tried to grab the window ledge but his great-uncle Algie held fast onto his ankles, preventing him from falling.

"All I want you to do is some magic, boy! Just a smidge, then I'll let you go and we'll forget I ever did this."

Neville stopped flapping around, knowing it would be no use. "But I can't do magic! I want to come back in." He was crying now, scared that his great-uncle might let go of him so that he fell from the upstairs window and into a heap on the ground below.

"Not until you do some magic. Then you can - Oh! Thanks Enid, dear."

He let go of Neville's ankles and took the plate of dessert from his wife without thinking about what he was doing.

"ARGH!" Neville screamed as he fell whilst his elderly relative tried to grab his ankles but it was too late. He landed on the hard ground, expecting to have broken all of the bones in his body but he didn't stop. Instead, he bounced back up into the air then landed again a few metres down the garden path, continuing until he was in the middle of the road. Once there, he stopped bouncing and sat with his legs splayed in front of him, leaning back on his hands with a huge grin on his face.

"Yes! You did it, Nev! I told you it would work!" Great-uncle Algie was leaning out of the upstairs window, shouting his happiness, his wife beside him staring in disbelief. From the front door of the house came an elderly woman who was Neville's grandmother, sobbing into a handkerchief.

A/N: Aww...bless him.

Let me know how it was.
