Aiko: So… Haven't posted on the site for a few years. I'm really hoping my writing's matured considerably, though I doubt any of you will be able to read my earlier work. It's long gone by now. Anyway, this was written under the prompt that although that Courtney snuggling up to Duncan scene is well known, most have ignored an important fact. So I ask all of you, go watch that episode on youtube, pause before it zooms in on Courtney and look to the left of the screen. BRIDGETTE AND GEOFF ARE SNUGGLED UP ALL COZY-LIKE TOO. And I believe it's just as important as the early D/C implication. So here we go. Kinda short, but I had fun writing it.
Disclaimer: Do not. Own. Total. Drama. Island.
Waking Up
My mind was fuzzy, but I could so clearly remember the previous night. My cheeks began to burn when I recalled how I burned down the tent in a moment of my typical terrestrial clumsiness. The entire night was spent in the rain, although there was some semblance of shelter gained from a branch DJ had graciously held over our heads. And although I was damp and my back hurt just slightly, I couldn't help but feel comfortable. I began to doze off again.
But then Courtney was suddenly shouting. An argument was started up with Duncan and the slight smile on my face curved into a frown. So she had woken up cuddled against him. Big deal. I had no idea what her problem was; everyone knew she liked him. Besides, it was perfectly fine waking up in the hold of someone you care about. Without even thinking, I nuzzled into his body, my arm around his waist.
Okay, sure he wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, he was a little clumsy (like me) and he wasn't that good with words. No one's perfect. I chanced to glance upward and with his hat pulled over his eyes, he was still asleep, leaned against DJ's side, his arms crossed over his chest. For a moment I watched the steady rise and fall of his chest and smiling, I leaned back into him. I liked Geoff just the way he was, perfect in his imperfection.
…But he didn't need to know that. …Yet.
