I don't own anything but material possessions. Yay for me...
For the first time for a year, a grown Roy Harper felt tears fill in his masked eyes. He was in his bedroom, staring at a day marked on his calender. It was already that day. The little black mark signaled what qualified as the wort day of his life. He slowly walked toward his closet, his head hung low. He changed out of his costume (Minus the mask), and replaced it with a black suit. He walked out of his room, not even saying hello to any of his teammates. He just wasn't in the mood. Not today.
He left the taxi driver a tip and climbed out of the cab. Roy walked through the gate of Steel city cemetery and headed for his daughter's grave, it was his duty to respect the girl. Of course she was there, Jade. Her green kimono was replaced with a black one, and she held her Cheshire mask at her side. Leave it to Jade Nguyen to stay in costume while visiting a grave.
The two stayed quiet for a while, silently agreeing a truce. After all, Lian had always hated their constant fighting. It was the least the pair could do. Finally, Jade spoke up.
"Why Lian, Roy? Why my- our little girl?" She asked. "Why Lian? Of all people, why would our daughter have to die?"
"Because she was our daughter." He answered. "What other reason is there?"
"Good point."
Jade knelt to the ground and pulled out a box of cookies. "Her favorites."
Roy watched the assassin mourn, cruelly ironic in a way. They were enemies, Jade and Roy. Well, they were now anyways. They had first met back when all Roy really cared about was buying fish tacos and watching Aqualad throw a fit. Now he finally understood. There was more to life then hairgel, even more to life then the titans. There was Lian. There was archery. There was happiness. Roy wasn't sure he'd ever really be happy again. His little girl wasn't there anymore, his little archer. He had tried everything to protect her, and everything to bring her back. Everyone who could help had done what they could, and it was to no avail. Lian Harper was gone. Not even Raven could bring her back.
"I love you... Daddy."
His daughter's words echoed through his mind, over and over. But all Roy could do was stand there. Stand there, and watch his daughter's mother cry.
Okay, I was bored so I read Speedy's wiki page. That lead to Cheshire's wiki. Which led to Lian's annoyingly short wiki. So you understand, I had to write this. Review or don't. I don't really care about that. And I know Lian died in Star city, but this is Teen Titans animated.
