Avatar Short: Zeus
The Thunderbolt. It is my weapon. I am Azula. I am a God and I sit on a golden throne atop a great mountain. I am the youngest child of Titans. One a kindly creature of the Earth, grounded and nurturing like the soil, encompassing and supportive as the world. Ursa. My mother. The other a magnificent beast of the Heavens, imposing and terrifying as the storm, overwhelming and absolute as the sky. Ozai. My father.
The Thunderbolt. It was his weapon. He is Zeus. He is a God and he sits on a golden throne atop a great mountain. He was the youngest child of Titans. The other a magnificent beast of the Heavens, imposing and terrifying as the storm, overwhelming and absolute as the sky. Cronus. His father.
I cannot help but feel that our lives are similar. In the beginning the Primordial Uranus the Heavens copulated with Gaea the Earth and produced many children. But fearing all his children would turn against him he buried them all within Gaea's womb, save one Cronus whom Gaea saved to avenge her.
In turn Cronus became every bit the monster his father was and in turn copulated with the Earthly Titan Rhea and produced many children. But like his father fearing they would all turn against him he devoured them all one by one save one; Zeus whom Rhea saved out of love and to avenge her and Zeus's siblings.
How similar to my grandfather Azulon named for the starry Blue Dragon in the Eastern Sky and his wife Ilah. To Uranus and Gaea. How similar Ozai my father is to Cronus and Ursa my mother is to Rhea. And how similar I am to Zeus.
Azulon sent away Iroh his firstborn to war in the far east and even sent my father away to find the Avatar. Then father attempted to usurp the throne and to save her son my brother Zuko our mother killed Azulon and fled. Then in time fearing his throne my father sent away my brother and now he has abandoned me while he goes off to conquer with the power of the comet.
There are differences yes. Ursa choose to save Zuko not I nor was it for vengeance. And thus there I differ from Zeus.
For I am not Zeus. I am no God. I will not betray my father. No I will die for him. For he is all that matters.

Author's Note: Of note though I can't help but feel that Zuko resembles Hades and to some extent Katara resembles Persephone. I am a Zutarian after all though.
