"C'mon, Evans! Just one little kiss; I promise it won't hurt," James said, wiggling his eyebrows somewhat suggestively.
"Merlin, Potter! Don't you ever give up," Lily asked exasperatedly, not even caring to look up from the essay Professor Slughorn had assigned.
"Nope," James replied with a cheesy grin that made half the first years girls swoon.
Across the room a certain Sirius Black was snickering. His friend, Remus, couldn't help but watch him bemusedly.
"Something funny, Padfoot," Remus asked.
"She's going to cave; I can tell. Evans will eventually give into Prongs. They all do, eventually. Not that I can remember any of them ever putting up a fight…," Sirius muttered.
Remus snorted in response and put his book down, "Lily's much too smart. The day she kisses James is the day I get purple hair, and we both know how unlikely that is."
"Nothing is impossible, Moony. Remember that," Sirius said smirking.
He rose and walked away with his famous mischievous grin plastered across his face. Remus couldn't help but pale, and it wasn't from the upcoming full moon.
Sirius was gone for quite a while. Remus took to watching Lily and James argue a little more. It was much more amusing than his book.
"You're a prat, Potter," Lily yelled.
"I love you," James yelled back.
"No you don't," Lily shrieked in turn.
At this point they were both standing. Lily's fists were tightened and her knuckles were turning white. Her freckled face was also beginning to match the shade of her hair nicely.
Out of no where, a frantic fourth year girl with bleach blonde hair ran into the common room. She was screaming with, what Remus couldn't tell, was delight or fear. The girl ran straight to where James and Lily were; then sped right passed them.
However it wasn't without consequence. She had bumped into Lily; sending her flying into James' eager arms. They're lips crashed against each other. They broke apart quickly. Lily look disgusted and James looked as though he wanted to melt with pleasure.
The girl who bumped into Lily ran to the stairway to the girl's dormitory. She quickly pulled out her and, mumbled something quietly, and Remus' hair turned a pale shade of purple. Some would call it lavender. She fled up the stairs.
Sirius walked in whistling innocently. He approached Remus with an easy grin.
"They always do whatever I want; even just for a smile. Look where my good looks got me. Prongs got his kiss and you got purple hair," Sirius explained, smiling throughout the explanation.
"This is very unfair, Sirius! Change it back," Remus demanded, pointing at the purple monstrosity.
"Tomato, tomata! You call it unfair; I call it killing two birds with one bleach blond stone," Sirius said.
He sauntered out of the common room, barking with the laughter the whole way out.
Happy birthday, Chloe (PottersLittleSister)! This is your late birthday present, but I'm sure you could tell. I hope you find it amusing.
