Hello :D This is the third story I'm posting on FT, and I don't really know if it's any good/ going to be any good so bare with me xD.
DISCLAIMER: Sadly I don't own Fairy Tail. If I did there would be more romance, more fluff ...etc. :D
Well, here is the story.
Lucy and Natsu Dragneel are a poor newly married couple. Natsu's wage was enough to rent only a very small apartement. But there were two things of which each were extremely proud: Lucy had the longest and most beautiful hair in all of Magnolia, and Natsu possessed a magnificent gold pocket watch, given to him by his father, Igneel.
New Year's Day was drawing near, and Natsu and Lucy began to think what present they could afford to give each other. Lucy always niticed sadly when Natsu looked at his watch. It was fixed to button-hole of his coat by a common old leather strap. He really needed a gold chain for his watch.
'If only I could buy you a gold chain for your watch, Natsu, I knew you have always wanted to buy it' She thought sadly.
And Natsu often thought, as he looked at Lucy combing her hair-comb for her hair.
'How nice it would if only I could buy you a jeweled hair-comb for your hair, Luce?' he thought.
But a gold watch-chain and a jeweled hair-comb would have cost far more money then they could afford.
Then suddenly Lucy had a wonderful idea! Quickly she ran down the street to the shop with the notice 'Hair Bought', She went in and an hour later walked out of the shop with 5000J in her hand. But with short-cut hair! On the way home she stopped at a watchmaker's shop and found exactly the raight chain for Natsu's watch.
Returning home, Lucy wrapped the precious gift in a piece of colored paper, then she curled her short hair. When Natsu arrived home and saw her hair, he was speechless.
"Oh, Natsu, don't look at me like that, idiot!" said Lucy. "It will grow again, sure it will." Then, she handed a parcel to Natsu."You see, I had to sell it to get some money for your present, Happy New Year, Natsu darling,"
Natsu opened the parcel. He dropped into a chair and laughed until tears came out of his eyes, "Luce, you're weird. I think we'd better put this present away for a while." He said, gently at last. " You see," he continued, talking a small package from his pocket. "I sold my watch to buy this comb for your hair! Isn't that funny, weirdo?"
Nodding as the tears rose in her eyes too. Lucy gave Natsu a brave smile and said,"Our presents are the best present in the world, you know." Natsu smiled. And then, They kissed on the lips.
