Nate Archibald was her best friend besides Blair. They also lost their virginity to each other when they turned 14. He was dating Blair at the time but he still loved Serena. Finally Serena met Dan Humphrey who she soon fell in love with.
Nate always loved Serena but he also always had another girl. He never once fought for her. He never proved his love for her he just gave up.
Dan always loved Serena but he always judged her and he cheated on her twice once with the new hot teacher and then with Georgia Sparks but every time he wanted her back he always put himself out there.
Now they both want her so now she has to decide between the boy who has always wanted her but always had girls on the side or the boy who loves her but keeps letting his judgments change his mind about wanting to be with her.
