Epilogue
"Lauren, if you don't hurry up you'll be late for school – again!"
Every day was the same routine. Lauren would get up late, and end up rowing with her mum over who's fault it was, who's turn it was to feed the cat, that there wasn't enough milk left for a cup of tea, and then get bustled out the house with her coat half on and slice of toast hanging out of her mouth.
Every day, she was met at her garden gate by her best friend Megan.
"Honestly, I you are the least organised person I know." Megan would tease as they walked. "How you get straight A's in everything is a mystery to me."
And every day, Lauren would take a bite of her toast, smile knowingly to her friend while tucking strands of her long brunette hair behind her ear and say "Can't help but be a genius."
The girls would both giggle, link arms and spend the rest of the journey gossiping about Chelsea Cranbrook's new boyfriend, what was happening in Eastenders and how Lauren was going to get into Woodgreen University, even if it killed her.
Every day Lauren would come home, throw her bag down at the bottom of the stairs and sit on the sofa watching the latest chat show until her mum came home, moaned at her for having her shoes on the furniture and asked her what she wanted for tea, which Lauren would never have a definite answer for.
And every night Lauren would sit in her room, flicking through the university prospectus, staring up at the stars and wondering if maybe there was more to life than this.

The door clicked shut, echoing around the empty console room. The Doctor sighed as he pulled his brown overcoat off and tossed it casually over one of the supporting pillars to his right, walking slowly up to the TARDIS console.
"Where to next?" He asked out loud, knowing that he wouldn't get an answer. He was alone, again. It was better this way- less people to get attached to, and less people to put in danger. People were better off without him. His mind flashed back to Donna's face as she left the church, happily married, screaming and showing off her ring to the guests, and the lottery money she would wake up to in a week's time. He thought of Rose, living her life in the parallel world with his clone, happy. He thought of Martha – she would be married to Tom by now- the doctor who loved her back. Everyone had someone, everyone was happy, and this meant more to the Doctor than having them travel with him.
He walked around the console flicking switches and turning dials, thinking about the universe of possibilities available to him. He hadn't been to Guilamar in a while, but then he could always visit the moving mountains of Felspoon that Donna had mentioned.
A loud ringing interrupted his thoughts. It had been a while since somebody had called his mobile phone. Cautiously he picked it up, pressed the answer button and held it to his ear.
"Hello?"
"Doctor, it's me, Martha. I knew you'd still have the same number!" The Doctor's face lit up at hearing the voice of his old companion.
"Martha Jones, hello!" He said cheerily. "How are you?"
"I'm alright." He heard Martha say. "But I think you need to come back to Earth, quickly."
"Why what's happened?" Concerned, the Doctor began to type in the co ordinates of London, Earth. "What date is it?"
"It's the tenth of June, 2030" Martha replied.
"2030?!" The Doctor was surprised. "I was just on Earth not half an hour ago and it was 2010... blimey, the timelines must have been completely messed up thanks to Gallifrey returning. Will be there in a second Martha – what's happened?" He asked again.
"Doctor- I think we've found Jenny."
Chapter 1 up soon :)
