Normal POV

"Aki, come down and eat some breakfast. You don't want to be late on your very first day for school," called a middle-aged woman from the stairs.

"Coming mom, just give me a sec," said Aki.

Aki POV

"Now where did I put my deck?" Aki thought frantically as she was putting on her blazer and checking her closet for her missing cards.

She was sweeping through her drawers and her bags looking for her deck. Piles of clothes could be seen on either side of the door while books and magazines where scattered on top of her mattress.

"Maybe it's under the bed," as she knelt down and started feeling for her duel case.

"Bingo, found you guys," as another shout from downstairs shook her from her revelry.

"Coming mom," putting on her shoes and started making her way downstairs

Normal POV

"So Aki, you ready to start you're your first day in high school?" asked her mother while placing a glass of strawberry juice by her plate.

"Yeah mom. I mean, this is my very first day of going to school in my whole life," said Aki, eating through her plate of pancakes.

And she meant that literally. Aki had always been home schooled due to the fact that her father was a senator and had always been protective of her when she was young. She rarely goes outside unless accompanied by father or mother. Because of that, she doesn't have any friends. Last month, she persuaded both her parents that she was old enough to go out on her own and start being independent. Her mother agreed with her readily though her dad took a little more time to buy in to her idea. In the end, she got what she wanted and was enrolled into Duel Academy.

"Remember Aki, behave yourself. I know this is quite exciting considering it's your first time and all but you're going there to study," said her mother in a serious tone.

"I know already mom. You've been saying that all day since last month. I'm not a kid anymore," Aki said irritatingly.

"Oh, and no boy hunting on your first day," Aki's mother said playfully.

"MOM!"

"I'm just joking dear. You better go now. I see the bus is already here," saying that to her daughter while looking out the window.

"Bye mom."

After picking up her bag and kissing her mother's cheek, she left the house and started running over to her school bus.
