Hello again, my lovelies!
I'm back with a brand new story requested by Dembalza! This writer is a huge fan of both Knuckles x Rouge and Silver x Blaze so after their help with the story line, I've finally put together a new story for you all. Definitely different from what I'm used to but going to try my best to make it worth reading! Please enjoy! A reminder that I'm still taking requests for one-shots and stories!

It took Eggman four long months, but he had finally done it. He had created a robot that even stumped the Sonic team for defeating it. It was the rarest of rare occurrence's that Eggman had a bright idea worth using against Sonic and the others, but this time he had really done it. He had built a beast that combined all the dominant traits of nearly each member of the gang.
Sonic's speed, Tails' brains, Knuckles and Amy's strength, Blaze pyrokinesis and Rouge and Shadow's battle potential. They were lucky he hadn't figured a way to generate both Tikal and Silver's powers, then they'd be in for some real problems. Cream and Cosmo hung back with Tails in the Tornado and tried to aid him in shooting down at the beast, but to no avail.
Sonia and Manic tried to act as guardians to Tikal and Silver as they summoned all their strength into their powers in order to aid the gang into defeating the pesky, metallic beast. Silver managed to lift it a few feet off the ground, but there was no denying it was pretty heavy, even for his powers. Tikal tried to read it's 'mind', but unfortunately even she didn't have the powers to read into and robots mind.
'Blaze! Go with Silver and attack it from below!' Shadow exclaimed over the noise.
The lavender feline ran off with her grey companion before summoning her powers in order to manipulate the beast's fire as well as her own as she was flown beneath it by Silver and his powers. She managed to finally melt away the bottom layers of it, revealing it's engines and control panel.
'They've done it! Attack now!' Rouge exclaimed.
Usually Knuckles or Shadow would take initiative and help Sonic to take down the beast, but were too busy taking on smaller badniks and other robotic concoctions of Eggman's. So instead, Sonic exchanged a friendly and determined look with a certain rosy hedgehog before she whipped out her hammer and the two began running towards the robot as the others distracted it.
'No! No, no! Not this time!' Eggman exclaimed to himself as he tried to get Silver, Blaze and Rouge out of his way.
Sonic scooped Amy up mid-dash before whirling her around and pelting her towards the engines of the beast, hammer first. She hit it so hard, the robot appeared to take a few seconds to even process what was happening, giving Amy time to get out and make a run back towards Sonic with a proud grin plastered over her muzzle.
'Sayonara, sucker.' Amy smirked as she watched the metallic beast implode and Eggman have a minor meltdown in his tiny hovercraft along with the others.
They all chuckled and cheered as the fiery bits of debris hit the ground, narrowly missing them, not that they were paying a great deal of attention. Eggman finally refrained from tearing out his moustache before hovering down to their level. He had a deranged look in his eye, not that getting worked up over a defeat was out of the ordinary for him but he was close to insanity at this point.
'I'll be back, you pests. Mark my words! I'll be back for you all!' Eggman bellowed at the top of his lungs.
'Get a hold of yourself, Egghead.' Sonic chuckled.
'Don't get too cocky, Hedgehog! I know you're just showing of for little Miss Amy Rose! Insulant brat!'
'I'd watch out, Doc. My bro has always been protective of his pals but I think he'll kick things up a notch if you take on his girlfriend.' Manic smirked.
'I think she can take on herself.' Tikal giggled.
'Argh! I'll be back! For all of you!' Eggman exclaimed for the last time before flying off.
The gang chuckled to themselves, right there in the middle of the destroyed clearing where Eggman's base use to stand. Sonic pulled Amy in with one swift movement by her waist before placing a passionate kiss on her cheek. The gang bowed their heads, a few smiling a little, as if it would give the duo some form of privacy.
'Come on guys, let's go home.' Tails smiled before jumping into the Tornado and firing her up.

The gang made it home as the sun was setting, arriving in tails' garage as he parked the Tornado. Sonic invited everyone to hang around for a while so, to no surprise, Cosmo and Cream fired up the stove and got to cooking a meal for everyone. It was the only time it was ever really used anyway. The gang lounged about the living room, chatting and laughing about their encounter with Eggman, they had had far more fun than they should have.
'I haven't seen Sonic's eyes sparkle like that in a long time.' Sonia laughed.
'Well, he hasn't been able to hide his boredom as well as the rest of us.' Knuckles rolled his eyes through a smile.
'I don't think I've ever seen Eggman so angry over a defeat!' Cosmo laughed as her and Cream brought out dinner.
'I swear I saw his eyes twitch!' Silver added.
'You and Mr. Sonic did a great job taking down that mean robot, Amy!' Cream exclaimed with glee as she finally sat down.
'I loosened the lid for them.' Blaze giggled jokingly.
'It was all a team effort.' Amy blushed as she snuggled into her blue hero.
'How does a humble sweetheart end up with a cocky idiot?' Sonia smirked.
'Don't lie, sis, I'm the greatest thing that ever happened to you!' Sonic smiled proudly.
'Oh, here we go.' Rouge rolled her eyes.
'How about you two settle this at the river tomorrow?' Tikal arched an eyebrow.
'Good idea. What do you say, Faker?' Shadow smirked.
'Uh, yeah. Totally?' The hero stammered, causing everyone to laugh.

Sonic had come to the point in his life where even he of all people could admit he could get a bit too big for his own signature sneakers every now and then. Maybe agreeing to take on his older sister, who was equally as skilled as him in combat, near water, may not have been his best move. To make matters worse, he had the rest of the gang, including his girlfriend to watch him get humiliated.
'Oh, come on, babe. It really wasn't that bad?' Amy said as she rubbed the blue hedgehog's back.
'Actually, it was, Rose.' Shadow smirked, causing the boys to snicker.
'What do you think, Cream? You're the most neutral out of us all?' Rouge smirked.
'Don't bring me into this! I love you all, I'm not taking sides.' Cream said as she held up her hands defensively.
'Thanks, Cream.' Sonic huffed a little before coughing up some water.
'You're such a sweetie, Cream. It's ok though, you can be honest! It was clear that Sonic can't take on his big sister!' Sonia bragged as she ruffled her brother's hair.
'Knock it off, Sonia!' Sonic swatted her hand away.
'Ok, ok, alright. Next time, we'll be in the desert, eh? Nowhere near water, and on your turf?'
'Deal.'
'Now that we've seen the show, how about some food?' Knuckles questioned with a smile.
'Yes! I'm famished.' Cosmo said as she helped Rouge and Tikal unpack the picnic basket.
Everyone helped set out the plates and cutlery before setting out all of the delicious food that the girls had prepared earlier that morning. Cream, being the humble and giving soul she was, was quick to make her pet chao, Cheese, a plate of food before herself. It was moments like this that even the coldest of souls light up inside.
'How come we don't come out here more often?' Blaze questioned out of the blue as she scanned the surroundings.
'Because it's almost a three hour hike?' Tails answered.
'It may be long but it's still a beautiful walk. Plus, exercise is good for you?' Tikal reasoned with a sweet smile.
'I guess if we came out here all the time, it wouldn't be as special, you know?' Silver shrugged.
'That's the softest thing I've ever heard you say.' Manic chuckled.
'Shut up.'
'He's right, though. Coming out here every now and then just makes it better for when we are out here, all together.' Amy smiled, earning her a squeeze from her man.
The gang smiled, even Shadow, and sat in a blissful silence for a little while longer. The continued to eat lunch and stare around at the serenity of the river. It was so clear and calm, home to rocks and small aqua life, maybe even the occasionally chao. Flowers of all kinds bloomed from end to end around the large trees that towered over the gang and the river that only allowed in the strongest rays of sunlight. It was like a scene from a movie from a book, peaceful, tranquil, and happy.
'You know something?' Cream spoke up.
'What's that?' Shadow arched an eyebrow.
'We've all been friends for years, since I was born at least. I know we've been coming here occasionally for a while now, and I don't doubt for many years more.'
'That's very true.' Blaze said, as if coaxing her to go on.
'So, when I grow up… fall in love and have kids of my own, I want to bring them here too. Hoping they'll find friends as perfect as the ones I have and bring them here too. Then they'll grow old together, have kids, and so on.' Cream bowed her head to look at Cheese as she smiled and stroked her chao.
Everyone sort of stared on at her in silence for a few seconds before smiling before smiling brightly and exchanging happy looks with each other. Cream was the youngest of the gang, the baby, but sometimes they had to admit how much they underestimated her maturity. What she said really got them to thinking about their futures.
'I hope so too, Cream.' Sonia smiled and squeezed the young rabbit's hand.
'Ditto.' Rouge added before resting her head on Knuckles' shoulder, causing him to blush.
'I think we can all agree we'll all be back here many more times before we pass on?' Sonic smiled and looked around at his friends.
'Agreed.' Everyone answered in sync.

'That was pretty intense by the river today, what Cream was talking about, eh?' Knuckles arched an eyebrow as he stared down at his sneakers.
'You're not wrong. It really got me thinking, to be honest.' Silver admitted.
Knuckles nodded to concur with his grey comrade, thinking back to the events of the day before he got to thinking again of his future. After the day by the river, everyone went their separate ways to head off home. Knuckles and Silver were headed the same direction and decided o walk together, which is when they got to talking.
'It's so strange seeing Amy and Sonic together now, after all this time, you know?' Knuckles chuckled.
'I couldn't agree more. I mean, I know they're a fair way off it, but just to think that one day they could get married and settle down? It's scary just thinking about it!'
'You're not wrong, but it certainly gets you thinking…'
'What do you think your future holds, Knux?' Silver asked boldly.
'Honestly? Probably the same as now, hopefully with a nice home to share with a gorgeous wife and kids… I never thought I'd hear myself say that aloud to be honest?' Knuckles shook head at the realisation.
'Good luck getting Rouge to have kids.' Silver mumbled through a chuckle.
'What now?'
'What? You don't think you're going to end up with her? It's so obviously she likes you, she just passes it off as flirting. She's not a secretive as she thinks she is, despite her job being a spy… That and Tikal may have done a quick scan some time back.' Silver admitted as he nervously scratched his quills.
'Oh really? Well, I- uh… um… Well, what about you, eh?' Knuckles quickly changed the subject.
'What about me what?' Siler arched an eyebrow.
'You and Blaze? You love her and you know it. Plus, I bet if Tikal had a rummage through her brain, we'd find she feels the same.'
'W-What? T-That's crazy talk, crazy I tell you!'
'Be a man, Silver! Just admit you love her!' Knuckles snapped through a laugh.
'You're one to talk, you hypocrite!' Silver shot back in the same demeanour.
The two stopped walking to face each other, staring each other down in the attempt to make the other crack. Their eyes were beginning to twitch, trying not to blink and trying not to be the first to admit their feelings for the girls. Having said that, it was only a matter of time before-
'Alright, alright! I admit it, I've always felt that way for Blaze, but you know how she is! She's so closed off and all that. It would be one hell of a struggle getting her to admit her feelings, given she even felt the same!' Silver exclaimed.
'Oh, come on. It wouldn't be that bad?' Knuckles arched an eyebrow.
'It would be and are you going to confess or leave me hanging?' Silver huffed.
'Alright, alright. I'll admit that, while she drives me absolutely insane, it wouldn't be so bad… being with… Rouge more often… I guess.'
'Now was that so hard?'
'More than you know.'
'What do you say we make things interesting?'
'What are you saying?'
'A bet, a competition of some sort? First person to 'get the girl' wins?' Silver smirked as he stroked his chin.
'Have you gone mad?' Knuckles eyes bulged.
'On the contrary. A little friendly competition is just what we need to get us going to make this happen… unless you're chicken?' Silver arched an eyebrow through a smirk.
'I'm in… what are the stakes?' Knuckles grumbled
'The winner decides. Shake?' Silver outstretched his hand.
Knuckles gave the grey hedgehog and evil glare before outstretching his own arm to take the gloved hand and shake it firmly. If all was out in the open, neither parties were overly excited about this so called 'bet', and it was definite that Silver would be regretting this come morning, but at the end of the day, they supposed they would have what they wanted… may the best man win.
