Well this isn't much for now but I figured I'd see what people thought about it so here we go!

Oh yeah, this was inspired by a pic I saw on deviantart:

Desmond climbed onto his bed, hoping to leave an exhausting day in the Animus behind him in dreamland...

Well Des, I'm sorry to say (well no I'm not actually ^^) life doesn't always pan out the way we want it to

XxXxXxX

You know that feeling you get sometimes while you're sleeping?

You know, while you're dreaming and then suddenly you're falling but the next thing you know you're sitting up on your bed, blanket tangled around your legs and your heart beating a mile a minute?

Yeah that feeling.

Well, that's exactly what Desmond was going through.

… well... almost exactly

He had been dreaming of an assassination mission, but not as Altair or Ezio.

Desmond was dreaming of being a full fledged assassin on his first mission.

He was perched atop a stack of crates within a run down old warehouse waiting for the right moment to strike...

He blinked, and when he opened his eyes, everything was masked in darkness except for several bright silhouttes. Desmond glanced to his right as two red blurs walked in his direction, a gold figure following close behind.

He blinked again, and watched as the two soldiers walked underneath him, oblivious to the trails of red that followed in their wake.

His target stepped forward and Desmond leaped and fell silently towards the Templar, his hidden blade ready find its mark.

Desmond's body tensed in anticipation to feel the on the evil bastard's body beneath him, to feel his blade sink into flesh... but it never came.

His target disappeared before his very eyes, a black hole in the floor in his place, just waiting to swallow him up

And Desmond continued to fall... deeper and deeper and deeper...

He watched, as if his mind had been detached from his body, as he plummeted through darkness...

And then he was sitting up, his heart was going into overdrive...

But he sure as hell was not in his bed, in his room, in the warehouse

Desmond was definitely not in Kansas anymore
