"My innocence is wearing thin

But my heart is growing strong,

So, call me, call me, call me….

At the mere hour of 12:00 A.M in her bedroom curled up into a tight ball on her bed quietly sobbing into her pillow, lay a girl whose heart was broken. Shattered into multiple tiny pieces resembling glass shards. The moon shone brightly and was brilliantly casting its ever-beautiful iridescent glow on the broken female, the endless stream of tears that slid down her pale cheeks glistening.

Marinette Dupain Cheng was a wreck, her dark blue hair tussled all over, her blue orbs glassy eyed, red rimmed and swollen from the amount of agony she was unleashing. As she cried, she wondered why she had been so foolish to fall in love with a boy who was in love with another, she knew very well her chances of having her feelings returned were very slim. But to hear that thought confirmed aloud, broke her.

Flashback

Marinette stood behind a wall as she quietly listened in to the conversation her love was having, She honestly didn't mean to, she was walking out of school when she saw them and panicked. She watched Nino and Adrien talk with curiosity, only increasing more when her name was brought up as well as her heartbeat. Can't for once her heart be still?

"So..Marinette…what do you think of her?" Nino coyly asked. The Agreste smiled at her name.

"Well, she's very talented, very kind and very brave."

The answer to the internal question was a no, it began pounding rapidly like war drums.

"Do you like her? Like..more than just friends?" Nino clarified the meaning of his question.

Her breath hitched as her shoulders tense and her grip on her bag tightened.

"She's amazing and all..but…I don't..I have my eyes on another."

The ground beneath her shattered like an earthquake, as an agonizing pain shot up through her heart. She knew it, she was utterly a fool. A sob escapes her lips as she took a different exit and bolted, tears escaping her eyes at immense speeds.

End flashback

Marinette agonizingly opened her eyes as she sits up and hiccupped. A painful realization set in as she stared at those damn posters. She clenched her fists as she got up from her bed with a creak. Tip-toeing so she wouldn't wake up her parents, she reached for the posters and tore them from the wall with a loud "SHSSK" causing the girl to wince, so much for being quiet.

As she looked at the posters in her hand she realized she couldn't let a boy ruin her life, she was worth more than that. A boy should never define her life and she closed her eyes, crumbling the paper in her hands. Blue orbs reveal themselves again, determination settled, and she tossed the posters into the trash can, never looking back. She had more important things to deal with instead of a fickle crush that took control of her life. She had classes, she had her career to think about, her family, her bakery and most importantly, her role as Paris's heroine. She had to move on.

Within a couple of days, Marinette was no longer the love-struck girl everyone knew she was. She looks up from her notebook and sees Adrien wave. She waves back and goes back to her notebook, not feeling her heart pick up, or the goofy smile she would wear. She had sported a calm and friendly one.
