Kanda woke up early like any other morning. He stretched and yawned and ran his fingers through his hair…except there was no hair. He took one look at the fallen hair on his pillow and sheets and screamed.
The hideous caterwauling continued on for a full five minutes, rousing all and sundry from their sleep. It was pretty obvious that the shriek was coming from Kanda's room, but nobody could believe that it was Kanda who was screaming. Most people were thinking that Kanda had finally snapped and was torturing Lavi (in all sorts of ways) in his room for pissing him off until Lavi appeared and debunked that theory.
All were curious but none dared to go into the proverbial lion's den. In the end, both Lavi and Allen entered Kanda's room to retrieve a thoroughly bald Kanda, who was sobbing into a handkerchief and hugging Mugen tightly, to Komui. Yes, they weren't even bothering to hide their laughter, and most of the crowd had already burst out into guffaws, which was extremely evil to the person who had just lost all of his long, silky hair, but, let's face it, who wouldn't laugh at a bald Kanda?
After Komui had done his tests on Kanda (and conveniently using him as a guinea pig for a few others), he announced that he had determined the cause of Kanda's baldness. It was because Kanda ate too much instant soba, which contains a lot of MSG which causes hair loss, thus, all of his hair dropped off overnight. Oh, and Komui had also declared the effect irreversible.
It took several days for Kanda to get over his trauma, but when he eventually stepped outside his room, all jokes about his feminine hair was gone - to be replaced by jokes about his lack of hair. So he killed Jerry for feeding him instant soba full of MSG which caused his hair to fall, stole the recipe for MSG and imported it to other countries whereby he grew rich and retired from being an exorcist at the age of 25, and caused the rest of the world to lose their hair too by eating his MSG-filled instant noodles and experiencing his pain and anguish.
