Jess pov I ran quickly behind Leslie toward terabithia , mud sweeping into my shoes from the rain the night before."Hurry Jess"Leslie turned to yell behind her.I did as she asked , running down the hill toward the rope we swing on to get to both stood by the side of the creek,looking at the water had gotten alote higher from the rain."Ill go first"Leslie said grabbing the flashed me one of her beautiful smiles before getting ready to swing across.I stood and watched as she started to swing to the other side.
Then a sound came that made my heart sink , a snap , coming from the rope.I looked up in time to see it started to turn into slow motion as my eyes moved back to leslie.A scream escaped her lips as she landed in the water.A loud thud came from from she landed.I saw immediantly where the noise came flowed from the side of her skull as her head barely resurfesed.I jumped down into the cold water pushing my numb feeling and the freezeing water to the back of my head.I had to get to Leslie.
I reached out trying to grab ahold of her arm.I pushed my way over to her trying to stay above the water the current moving roughly toward us.I cant swim I think as a sob escapes my lips.I grip ahold of Leslies face trying desperatly to get her to covers my hands as her cold face lays in my hands."I love you Leslie please wake up"I beg tears slipping down my face.I yell it to her again this time doesnt move.I reach for something anything to pull us out of the creek but find hope leaves my body as my legs become to tired to keep me above water.
I tried to take in one more breath before being pulled under but could not.I moved my arms as fast as I could trying to resurfuce.I screamed as water filled my lungs trying to push it out of my throat but it was no body became completely consumed by the body started to sink lower into the water I looked over toward Leslie to see her body sinking down beside the stregth I had left I reached over and intwined my fingers with hers.I wont let go I thought slowly as everything slipped away.
