"Father…! Stop! Please… You don't know what your doing!" Reita shrieked as he ran over to his father, who is holding a gun toward his mother and younger sister. Reita tries to take the gun, but is stopped with a sharp jab to the stomach. "Father… Why?" He whispers. His father turns towards his wife and aims. "Shinji stop please! I beg of you!" The mother pleads "Please…" "Papa? Why did you hit brother?!" "Oh how much you look like your cheating mother!" Reita's father exclaimed. "Shinji I-I'm sorry… It meant no-" She was cut off. "Mother!" Reita screamed from the floor, as his mother's brains splattered against the wall. As his father aims at the young girl, he tries to stop him, but his attempts are in vain. His father pulls the trigger. Not long after he turns the gun on himself and pulls the trigger.

That horrible night happened one year ago, but the painful memory was still fresh as if it happened last night. Reita had to move in with his aunt and uncle. His cousin Kai was more than happy to have Reita live with them, but he too lost close family members. Kai was thankful that he didn't have to witness what unveiled that night. Reita was in agony. He felt so worthless. He couldn't do anything to save his family. Every night he wonders why his father didn't kill him too.

"C'mon Reita! Get up, it's time for school!" Yelled Kai as he ripped the blankets off of the sleeping blonde. "I don't want to get up!" Growled Reita as he could feel the cold air sink around him. Kai grabs Reita's ankles and pulls him off the bed. "Gah! Damn you Ka-" "Shut up… You know school makes you feel better, so get dressed and lets go." Kai was speaking the truth. Reita did enjoy school. His friend Ruki seemed to always be there to comfort him when he needed it.

Reita gets quickly gets dressed, and soon is out the door with Kai to catch the bus.
