Nao's Growing Up
He had to watch his daughter grow up from a hospital bed. It was rather depressing, in a sense, because a hospital wasn't any place to watch a person grow. Get better maybe, or slowly worse like himself…but growing? That was something that should be happening in other places: home, school, the outside world…
And, more baffling, was the timing. What was making Nao suddenly mature? She'd already started collage in the mindset she'd grown up: that kind, trusting and honest mind he sincerely hoped would continue on in the world. But he knew it could crumble in the face of deceit, in all the corruption that existed in the world. Time and time again the papers were filled with tragedies like that – but he couldn't teach his child to lie because of that. He couldn't destroy that.
But suddenly she's grown stronger, and he's relieved amongst his other emotions.
