Catch my Shadow

Author's Note: Hey guys! I know I haven't been around a lot, but I wrote this odd KHII drabble the other day in Physics class. A slight hint of my love of AxelxRoxas, but not a lot else. Spoilers if you haven't finished Roxas' part of the game and a bit more.

"Sora?"
Sora turned to see Olette standing in the doorway of the usual spot, her hair blowing softly in the wind.
"Olette, hey. Aren't you supposed to be with Hayner and Pence?"
"They said they'd wait."
Sora cocked his head slightly, worried about the distracted look on his friend's face.
"Olette, what's wrong?"
She sighed and sat down on the sofa.
"I had a dream about you last night, Sora. But it wasn't really you. You had blonde hair...it was strange."
She took out her embroidered coin purse, passing it over in her hands. Sora remembered the odd purse Mickey had given him. As he took it out, a blue marble fell out.
"Sora...how can you have that? You gave the blue marble from the trophy to Goofy, remember?"
Sora suddenly, unexplainably, felt sick.
"Something's wrong with all of this," Olette said quietly. "That boy...I know him. But he wasn't you."
Sora suddenly remembered the strange red-haired man in the black cloak. The one who had recognized him...
"Roxas!" Olette cried out, crystal tears streaming down her face as a far off memory sprung into her mind. She looked over at Sora, shock registering on her face. "You...Sora...Roxas...he's.." and then she fainted.
"Olette! No! Wake up!" Sora fell to the floor in disbelief. "Who is he! Damnit..."
Sora's hand closed around the blue marble, questions echoing in his mind.
"You don't remember, do you?" A voice said from behind him. "And you said you'd never forget me. I'm disappointed, Roxas."
Sora whipped around to find Axel staring at him, an inch from his nose.
"I don't know any Roxas," Sora said defiantly. Axel's eyes glinted and he laughed.
"What have they done to you?"
Then Sora felt Axel's lips touch his. Sora jumped back, but it was too late. Memories flooded his mind. Sitting on the clock tower eating sea-salt ice cream with Hayner, Olette, and Pence. Practicing for the Struggle tournament. Delivering mail to earn money to go the beach. The picture thief. A ghost train. The old mansion. Naminé. The mysterious man in black. The computer. Axel. The doppelganger fountain at the center of town. As this last image passed through, Sora realized that the boy staring back at him was blonde with blue eyes.
Roxas.
Right before waking from this dream-like state, Sora swore that he saw himself encased in a giant shell. As he opened his eyes, Axel's stared back.
"Now do you understand?"
