You woke up around 8 am from hearing a car pull onto the gravel in front of your home. Could it be Tom? You thought. He had left two mornings ago to do some press and you weren't expecting him back until later that day. You threw the covers to the side and ran over to the window which over looked the front yard. You saw a silver car parked in the driveway belonging to none other than your Tom. You had to make a quick decision. Either run down the stairs and tackle him and kiss him all over his face and tell him how much you missed him. Or… you could stay in your bed and pretend to sleep and wait for him to come upstairs and put his arms around you, telling you how much he loves you. You thought about it but before you could properly decide you heard the front door opening. You ran back over to the bed, threw the covers back on your body and shut your eyes. You were so excited to see him. You missed every little thing about him. His smell of fresh cologne, his wonderfully blinding smile, the way he calls you darling. Sooner than you thought Tom had already climbed the stairs and had opened the bedroom door. You felt him peering inside to make sure you were there. You heard the sound of luggage dropping to the floor and then heard him kicking his shoes off. Before you knew what was happening he had dropped himself on the bed while lying on his back. He knew you weren't really sleeping. You turned your head to look at him. He had a wide smile on his face.

"Darling, I've slept in the same bed with you for almost a year, I can tell whether or not you're actually sleeping." He spoke with such animation even though his eyes said he was tired.

You rolled your eyes and let out a quiet snicker. "There's just no fooling you, is there sweet heart?"

"Hehehehe." His laugh was something that you never got tired of. You realized just how much you missed it.

Tom turned on his side holding his head in his hand. You raised your arm and ran your fingers through his dark brown messy hair. He took your hand and held it to his slender cheek. He closed his eyes, taking in the moment.

"I missed you… a lot." You had to try hard not to pour your soul out in front of him. It was hard though especially looking into those deep blue eyes of his.

"I know darling", he kissed the top of your head "I missed you as well, I'm sorry I have to go away on these trips at a moment's notice… believe me I'd but rather be here with you."

He grabbed you around the waist pulling you closer to him while you nuzzled your head into his chest.

"I love you." Tom whispered into your ear.

"I love you to." You whispered back.
