Matthew held back tears as he charged into his room. Another day of school. Another day of homework. Another day of being forgotten. He was all alone in that hellhole. He just wanted to run away and leave all this behind. He felt like he didn't belong here. He was tired of being pushed around. Tired of being lonely. His head collided with his pillow as he let salty tears roll down his pale face.

Gilbert ran as he dodged the rocks that were thrown at him. His silver hair gleaming in the early sunlight. His red eyes glazed with fresh tears that threatened to fall. White hair and red eyes. That was probably the only thing to make people bombard you with rocks. He lost his balance and tripped, flinching as his pursuers caught up to him. Kick and punches racked his body and blood shaded his vision. Suddenly, everything stopped. He looked up to see his attackers running and in their place a scrawny boy with dull violet eyes. He felt the boy's arms wrap around him as he welcomed the comforting darkness that came.

Matthew took the time in the hospital to look back at his much had happened in the sixteen years he's been ignored. He'd been hiding behind a fake smile. Erasing all traces of sadness from his face if anyone bothered to acknowledge him.

"Hey you." A weak voice whispered. Matthew snapped out of his thoughts and focused on the boy he had saved.

"Yeah?" He asked.

"It was pretty awesome, what you did back there. Of course, not as awesome as me though." The albino smiled, messing around with the blue ice pack that lay on his left eye.

"Thanks. Oh and by the way, my name's Matthew." Matthew said, a small smile upon his face. A pure smile.

"Well Mattie, the name's Gilbert and I think this is the start of a beautiful friendship." Gilbert said as he tried to put an arm around Matthew.
