Easter, DOOM styles
Last year, Easter spirit was thick in the air
While Varon and Amelda were getting in Raphael's hair
Perhaps it started with Varon's debate
"Bilbies are way better than bunnies, mate!"
The ensuing fight showed no signs of stopping
So Rafael gave up and went Easter shopping
He tried, he did, but it wouldn't be done fast
For Amelda's eggs required that touch of class
Varon liked anything bright and shiny
Any difference between the two would bring on whining
They'd argue on size til Rafael would beg
So in the end he just got them Magic Seed Eggs
For Varon the novelty would appease
For Amelda the classic packaging would please
Imagine their confusion when the instructions were read,
Telling them to 'plant' a seed in the garden bed
Varon laughed out right and said "ha no way!"
And ate all of his chocolate that very same day
Amelda cautiously put one aside
Meaning to plant it in the garden outside.
Varon was beginning to have some regrets
As well as an ache that the stomach begets
He badgered Amelda to give him a seed
But Amelda refused to give in to his greed!
Amelda planted his and watered it so
As promised, a chocolate tree should grow
Yet the days wore on and Amelda despaired
He and Varon were still chocolate-tree impaired
Rafael sighed inwardly, realising what must be done
And went and bought a baby plant for a reasonable sum
At the stroke of midnight, when all were asleep
He planted it in, where the soil ran deep
Raph was awoken the next morning by a scream
Amelda's tree destroying a lovely dream
Amelda cared for it oh-so-tenderly
"Hey Amelda, you gonna give some of that chocolate to me?"
Watching him fight Varon was fun
But laughing at them fawn over a tree took number one.
The days went by and the boys were dismayed
That no chocolate eggs were found nor laid.
Sometimes Amelda spent hours outside
Staring at the tree about which Raphael lied
And so it amused Raphael to no end
When other people thought they'd gone 'round the bend'
Of course Cadbury™ were somewhat disturbed
When Amelda and Varon's complaint letter was heard
So come this Easter, they gave up on the tree
They decided to wait for the 'Great bunny'
This lucky rabbit supposedly wanders the land
Giving out eggs from a basket held in hand
He also leaves little eggs in a line
For curious children to come find
They show the way to a magical place
Where chocolate filled every inch of space
Raphael supposes he'd better leave a some eggs for show
Because Varon and Amelda will never know.
This year their excitement was infective
Even if last year's tree was 'defective'.

If you haven't been as bored as I am, you may not know the whole story Cadbury (massive chocolate company, for any who dont know)concocted, some bull about a magical place made of chocolate which grew on trees; where the 'great bunny' ruled. They had an awesome website which I looked for but I don't think its up atm, id sure love to live there though! Anyway the 'magic seed eggs' are supposed to grow into your very own chocolate tree, although of course, its all nonsense. I thought it was heaps cool last year… hey, to be honest i still think it's cool! I loved it... :(
