Lovino cursed under his breath. Yet again Feli met up with that German bastard and yet again he returned in tears. It hurt him every time he saw Feliciano so upset. He was the one Lovino truly loved, and he was all hung up on this damn bastard who made him cry.
Trembling, his younger brother leaned into the relative comfort of Lovino's arms.
"Fratello, Ludwig is him! I know it! B-but no matter what I do, he doesn't remember me. Not at all."
Oh, shit, now he was all worked up, the older Italian thought. Brushing back some wayward strands of auburn hair, Lovino gently wiped away Feliciano's tears.
"That stupid potato eater doesn't know anything. Honestly Feliciano, it might not even be him. I know you don't want to believe it, but it's likely that Heinrich died a long time ago. It hurts Feli, I know it does. But it won't help to dwell on the past, regardless of who this guy is."
Leaning back to observe the effect of his brotherly wisdom, he couldn't help allowing his eyes to travel across Feliciano's features. The silky auburn hair with one little curl sticking up. The expressive, childish amber eyes so much like his own. The very embodiment of innocence.
"He was my closest friend as a child. Who will I share secrets with or spend time with when I feel sad? Who will say they love me?" the younger of the two asked softly.
"Fratello, ti dico uno dei miei segreti. Ti amo." [1] Before he could stop himself, Lovino wrapped his arms around his brother's waist. Tilting his head up slightly, their lips met. For a few endless moments, the typically tsundere man just leaned into the kiss, comforting his lovestruck brother the only way he knew how.
Finally pulling away for air, Feliciano replied, "Don't worry, Lovi. I'll keep your secret if you keep mine. Anch'io ti amo." [2]
Bodies twined together, the two lay there. Kissing occasionally, they wordlessly protected each other from the harsh outside world, full of forgotten loves and merciless strangers. Keeping a very dangerous secret. That of two brothers in love.
