FORGOTTEN PROMISES
Summary:
It was Garth's birthday, but….it seems that Roy was not able to fulfill his promise to Garth….What will happen next?
ROY/SPEEDY'S POV
"Hey Roy, get up!" Aqualad yelled.
I slowly opened my eyes and saw a blurry blue figure looming over me.
"What?" I said groggily.
"We're going to the beach!" The Atlantian said excitedly.
"I've already let you sleep in you know~,"
I just groaned and pulled my covers over my head. Only to have it pulled back by the strong Atlantian.
"Why do we need to go to the beach so early in the morning? Didn't I tell you that we were going at noon?" I mean seriously, mornings are used for sleep not going to the beach.
Garth looked like he was about to smack me.
"Speedy…it's already two o' clock…"
SHOOT.
"…" "U-uhm…..s-sorry…?"
Garth finally snapped. He grabbed my pillow and threw it at me.
"Hey! I said I was sorry!"
But he just ran out of my room crying. Ahh man, I didn't mean to break our promise…It was an accident! I swear!
*Flashback*
*The day before*
"Roy Roy Roy! Do you know what tomorrow is?"
"What?" Humph, as if I could forget.
"It's my birthday!" The Atlantian squealed with glee.
"Is it now…" I tried to seem amused.
"It is it is!"
He seemed really excited, as usual.
"What are you going to give me?" He asked.
"Hmmm…..I don't know," I actually had something planned already , but I wanted to keep him guessing. Act casual.
"C'monnn~~~ figure out somethin'~~~~!" He begged.
"What about we go to the beach?" C'mon…sound like the idea just popped into my head…..
His face brightened up.
"The beach?" He said excitedly.
"Yeah, why not?" Got him.
"YES~!" He started to jump up and down uncontrollably.
"Then I'll get up around noon and then we'll go to the beach okay?"
"Okay~! You better not be late~!" He winked at me and then skipped out of the room.
*End of flashback*
*Back to present*
GARTH/AQUALAD'S POV
*knock knock*
I didn't respond.
*KNOCK KNOCK*
"….."
*!*
"What?" I yelled towards the door.
"Can I come in?"
It was Roy.
"Why should I let you in?"
"Because I want to apologize,"
"…"
"Garth I'm coming in,"
Roy opened the door slowly. Once he was in he closed the door gently.
"Garth…I'm sorry. I know how much this meant to you, and….I'm sorry."
"And…Happy Birthday."
"At least you didn't forget about that…" Garth mumbled to himself.
ROY/SPEEDY'S POV
Garth got up and then crossed the room.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
Garth started to gather a fresh towel and a change of clothes.
"To the beach of course~!"
"I don't want to waste this opportunity, hurry up and get your things Roy."
With that, I had already realized that he had forgiven me. Not that he would actually admit it though.
"Okay,"
I said as I left to go and get my things.
About ten minutes later, we were already out the door.
Hand in hand.
