Naruto: Something To Remember
A/N: This is dedicated to my sister for her birthday. Have fun reading! Special thanks to my beta, Brokenshardsofmyheart99!
Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto.
"Well, we have to do something," Kakashi said to the rest of the ninjas present in the room. He sighed and looked over at his self-proclaimed opponent in all things. "Gai, do you have any ideas."
Said ninja took that opportunity to strike his famous pose before answering, much to everyone's (except his star pupil) displeasure. "I say we bake a cake!" Gai said in his most enthusiastic voice. A bright light suddenly flashed down on him, and everyone except Lee sweat dropped.
"Gai-sensei! You are right! A cake is the way to go!" Lee shouted and gave the thumbs up to his role model.
Shikamaru sighed. "Troublesome. You expect me to bake a cake?"
"The bum's right! How can we? I can only make ramen!" Naruto yelled, causing Choji to go deaf for a while as a result of him being next to the blond. "Wait, is a ramen cake possible?" Everyone sighed and Naruto knew that his idea was rejected.
"A cake shouldn't be too hard," said Chouji after recovering from his brief loss of hearing.
Neji stood up. "Let us get the ingredients and make this cake," he said to the rest.
The group got up and began to gather all the necessary things. In order to prevent any mess ups they decided to get cake mix from a box. They looked around for the rest of the ingredients that they needed: eggs, vegetable oil, and water. They set down the ingredients on the table and looked at each other.
"Uh…" Kakashi began.
"Yeah?" Gai asked.
"Ugh," groaned Shikamaru.
"Hmm," hummed Naruto.
"Gai-sensei?" Lee asked.
"Huh," said Choji.
"You have no idea on how to start, do you?" Neji asked the rest of the ninjas in the room. He received several negative responses in return. "We have a box that tells us how to begin. All we have to do is follow the instructions. Hand it to me."
A silence grew. Neji looked at them before slapping his forehead. "You threw the box away?" he asked them.
"I thought we didn't need it," Kakashi explained.
"Of course we need it! Do you actually think I bake cakes in my free time?" Neji asked, but quickly regretted the question when he heard everyone say yes to his question. "I do not bake cakes in my free time!" he shouted.
"Now what do we do?" Choji asked them.
Suddenly all eyes turned to Choji. "Can't you bake?" Shikamaru asked. Choji shook his head.
Lee walked forward to the table and began to work. He poured the cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water into the mixing bowl. "Um, do you guys want to stir?" he asked the rest.
"I do!" Gai asked. He stir the ingredients carefully and waited to be done with them.
Shikamaru yawned. "The oven's on already. How long does it take?"
No one answered. "We'll see when it's done," Neji answered.
Gai placed the cake mixture in a heart-shaped container and put it in the oven. Several minutes passed and soon the ninjas had forgotten all about the cake.
Shikamaru began to play Shogi with Gai, who was up for the challenge. Lee watched on as his sensei kept losing. Kakashi popped out his favorite book and kept pushing Naruto away every time he tried to sneak a peak at it. Chouji cheered on Shikamaru in the game while he munched on potato chips. Neji would have paid attention to the cake in the oven if he hadn't been daydreaming.
"Do you smell that?" Neji asked the rest, snapping out of his daydream. The rest sniffed and soon smelled what Neji had smelled before them.
"THE CAKE!"
Minutes later, the seven ninjas tried their best to decorate the burnt cake and make it into a masterpiece, a horrible unwanted masterpiece. Right in the middle of the cake was something written, something which all the ninjas shouted.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MAYRA!"
A/N: Happy birthday, sister! Hope you liked it. Thanks for reading!
