The Last Thing You
Should Do
You had known it was coming sooner or later. Jack
has never and will never be one to hide anything very well. And you
remember thinking that the very last thing you should do is admit
that you feel something for him too. You never thought for a moment
that he would give up his promiscuous ways for you, or that his
feelings were actually love, so at the time it was a good plan. When
he finally told you, you turned him down, and in that moment you knew
how very wrong you were, and it plagues you still.
You know that your usual claims of love aren't really love. You aren't as stupid as everyone seems to think, nor as satisfied with your lifestyle. Having at least two boyfriends a week might have been fine before, but you're ready to be done. You want to fall in love and stop doing this. You've only really been in love once, and it destroyed you. You put yourself out there, and even though you know he felt the same way, Will turned you down because he didn't trust you. You still haven't quite recovered.
