Chapter One

(Annaslie we just got hit.) Jameson's thought speech was calm. Then again it was always calm. Even if you put a tail blade to his throat, he would be laughing at you.

My name is Princess Annaslie-Groth-Issinly. I am the first female to be able to join the ranks of the Andalite military. I am both honored and disgraced among my race.

We were in quadrant three. Which was where the yerks were more concentrated than any other quadrant. My shooter, Jameson, and I went here because two weeks ago we picked up a distress signal from a starship that crashed about a year ago. So we were ordered to follow up on it. Without any backup. But then again I expected that. Most people didn't want me in the military and wanted me to disappear.

We went there alright. I had a bad feeling from the first time I heard it but said nothing. Now that feeling has come to life. Because right in front of the view screen was three yerk starships and three battle ships plus two warships. And one of the battleships noticed us.

(Hit back and hard.) I ordered. (You know we won't make it but at least let's make sure the battleship will have some damage.)

(Well I always knew that I wouldn't live forever.) Jameson laughed silently. I knew that that was him being nervous. No one really understood him more than me. He came from a rich family that disowned him. Something similar to my history.

Our guns went off in beautiful sequence. But we never made it past the first shot. The battleship sent there own powerful beam towards us again. Our ship lost most of it's power. The lights were flickering on and off and the low oxygen alarm was going off. I noticed that Jameson put the ship full speed ahead towards the little blue planet to the left of us.

(What are you doing?) I asked.

(I wouldn't mind that I died but I don't want your family on my tail about you dying. So if there's a slight chance to survive this, this is it.) Jameson said calmly. His stalks turned to me for a split second and there was so much warmth to them that both my hearts skipped a beat.

A second blast hit our engines and I was thrown towards the view screen. My head hit the metal plexi glass and for a second I felt excrusating pain.

So this is it. This is the end to my life's story. I thought before the world went black and the alarms went silent.
