Chapter One

Glinda wiped her tear-streaked face with a pink towel as she emerged from the shower into her steam-filled bathroom. She was crying more than usual today. Why? She hadn't seen her Elphie in exactly a year. She cringed at the thought, and then returned to her quiet crying, wrapping herself in her white silk robe.

She knew she was being ridiculous, shedding so many tears, but she couldn't help it. She loved Elphaba with all her heart, and she just wanted her back. But she knew that wouldn't happen…

More tears came as she opened a cabinet and retrieved two small bottles from it. One was the green elixir bottle that she found after Elphie…after she… And the other was something Glinda had found a few months ago while shopping. It was a bottle of one of the oils Elphie used to use. The oil in particular that gave her such an intoxicating scent. As she clutched the elixir bottle to her chest, she opened the bottle of oil, sniffing the wondrous scent of her lost love that wafted from it.

She closed her still-crying eyes and pictured Elphaba standing before her, smiling her beautiful smile. Glinda shook herself out of her daze. 'Stop dreaming, Elphaba isn't coming back,' she told herself. She returned the coveted bottles back to their place. 'Elphaba isn't coming back.' She left the room with that thought swimming in her mind.

Suddenly, her senses were overwhelmed with the scent of Elphaba, and she saw a figure before her that she couldn't quite make out in her dark suite. However the figure was very familiar. She then heard words that made her want to sing, spoken by a voice she hadn't heard in exactly a year. "Hello, my sweet."

A/N: This was originally written as a one-shot, but I have six chapters written already if you want me to continue. Please tell me in your reviews if you want more :)
