Disclaimer: I do not own Maniac Cop or it's characters.

He's out there, waiting for his next victim.

He's waiting with his sword and gun.

He's prepared to take down anyone who perturbs him, anyone who attacks him, anyone who asks for his help.

He cannot be killed. He cannot be destroyed.

He is Matt Cordell, the "Maniac Cop," neither living nor dead.

One would think that he was no different than any of those other horrifying, fantastical mad dog killers seen throughout the country. But Cordell is not just any mad dog. He has a story, and it is not entirely evil.

Once he was a highly respected and honorable police officer when he was alive, busting and arresting suspects who surrendered to him, killing suspects who resisted him, and charging them with their crimes very accurately.

But he was a revolutionary cop. Like the famous Dirty Harry, he had little regard for proper police procedures and rules, and conducted his vocation more like a terrorist than a peacekeeper. His superiors and the government did not agree with the public's high opinion of Cordell, and they wanted to stop him. The problem was, they trumped up Cordell on false charges, and the officials who put him away for his insubordination were corrupt. He never forgot this injustice.

Then, to add injury to insult, he was brutally scarred and murdered in the prison showers by some of the very criminals he had once put away.

Now, as unknown forces have brought him back from the dead, one wonders why he wreaks havoc on anyone he meets, and not just on people he deems wronged him.

Perhaps there is an insane force inside him, driving him to commit these random killings.

Perhaps he kills just for the thrill of it. Perhaps he's so mad, he wants to lash out at the world, if he can.

Or perhaps he just hurts so much from his experiences with the courts and the prisoners' knives, and thinks a killing spree will frighten them into dropping the charges. One never knows with a cop like Matt Cordell.

Can he be stopped? Can he be defeated? Can the corrupt cops and officials who humiliated him be made to answer for their crimes so that, possibly, the bloody killings can stop?

Good people have been trying to fix things for Cordell, but things keep cropping up that make it hard to do. And Cordell continues to kill even his fellow cops and completely innocent people.

Just remember, if you spot a cop who has an icy cold aura around him and says next to nothing to you, and if he looks like he is spring-loaded for attack, DON'T GO NEAR HIM, RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN! He will not hesitate for a second to gut you. And always be mindful of the motto of Matt Cordell, the Maniac Cop, which is also his philosophy on life:

"You have the right to remain silent... forever."
