Chapter 1: Prologue
Its funny how people either don't trust anyone much or just trusts all the wrong people. Well I'm sure you can guess which one I am. Yep, that's me way too trusting.
My sister Nocturne is just the opposite. The rest of my true friends are Phoenix and Pyro. Their a little bit of both, it just depends on who it is.
Wait! How rude of me I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Ice for those who don't know me; very few know who I truly am. In fact, I'm majorly different compared to most, at least in the mortal world.
In the mortal world I'm known as Lea. Lea is the degrading name my mortal parents gave me. Whereas, in the immortal world, I'm known as Ice because of my freezing abilities.
My sister, Nocturne, is called this because of her liking to darkness. Her degrading name in the mortal world is Courtney.
My two friends Phoenix and Pyro have their share of annoying names; Jessica (Phoenix) and Meghan (Pyro).
We all live together in an average sized town, but as normal as that sounds, we don't live normal lives. In fact, we are the very thing that keeps the earth safe. We protect it from monsters, demons, vampires, and any other creature you can think of.
Other than killing demons right and left, life is pretty normal.
"Nocturne! Have you seen my hairbrush? You know the one with the blue handle?" I asked my sister.
"Did you try under your pillow? Or are you nervous about your date with Spike?" Nocturne mocked.
I rolled my eyes.
"Of course I looked under-ugh! Never mind…"
All of the sudden, the front door burst open as Phoenix came in.
"Sorry Ice, but Spike will have to wait."
"What?" I asked incredibly "Why?"
"You know that slayer guy you dated last week?" Phoenix asked.
"Yeah?"
"Well he's mad," Phoenix said "Apparently he found out about Spike."
I groaned.
"Where is he?" I asked annoyed.
"Pyro is holding him off for now," Phoenix replied. "But you know how bad fire is against water. He was on his way h-"
Crash!
The front French windows shattered, water came flooding in. Not a second later, Pyro came flying and hit the wall.
"Told you she'd loose," Nocturne bragged.
"Shit!" Phoenix yelled, "Do you have any clue how much that'll cost to fix?"
Pyro quickly recovered.
"Hello! Everybody just forget all about me!" she ranted. "What loving friends you are!"
Then Damien (slayer water guy) walked in casually (as if he did nothing wrong!).
"Hello ladies, miss me?"
"You know I never really liked this guy," Phoenix stated.
